TTR50 Wheels with Heavy Spokes - Will CRF Wheels on Ebay work?

Hi all... My son destroyed his rear wheel on his ttr 50 pitbike by shearing about half of the spokes. I've been looking for replacement heavy duty wheels and spokes and need to know if the CRF wheels will work on the ttr50. It seems like there are a ton of heavy duty wheel sets for CRF50's, but very little for the ttr50's.

I'm looking at these...

10" Front and Rear Rim Wheel Drum Brake XR50 CRF50 Stock Bike 12mm RM01K 02K H | eBay

Will they work on the ttr50? Can I simply remove the Honda hubs and replace with my stock ttr hubs?

Also, what are some recommendations without dumping a lot of money into this thing? Should I stick with stock hubs/brakes, or should I switch to a disc brake setup? Any information on cost, parts, etc?

Thanks!

Thanks for the response. Good lookin' bikes by the way!

So what rims/spokes did you put on that ttr50? I guess I'll just buy the honda crf50 rims/hubs in the ebay ad and then swap the hubs when they come in. From what you're saying, that should work?

We're from Ohio and went down to Monster Mountain a few weeks back. That really demonstrated the need for a good pit bike! I have two of these ttr50's and just put one up for sale today so I can invest in either a KLX110 (maybe the L version) or one of the new CRF110's as a pit bike.

I'm still going to keep the one ttr50, as we have a two year old itching to get on a bike too.

Thanks again.

yes thanks.. do the crf wheels seeing as they are cheep on ebay. and the 110 is very nice, the crf is the way to go in my opinion buy it is very limited as of now in parts. the klx is nice and can be very fast. id look on here for a bike already to go. its cheaper and less of a headache. if you have any more questions feel free to ask. I consider myself to be a ttr50 pro. I have the 06 which was the first year and I have made many purchases and mods on mine. good luck

Awesome, thanks.

Actually, I just bought a set of crf50 heavy duty black rims and heavy duty spokes on ebay for $99. They don't include a hub, but they are HD and include both spoke sets and front and rear rims.

The hubs on this ttr50 are fine, so my thought is that I can just lace up the rims/spoks to the oem stock hubs.
