KLX 110L to Auto Clutch

I would like to swap in a Semi Auto clutch into the KLX 110L. I understand it will end up being like a rekluse auto clutch in feel. I have read a few write-ups on this subject and was wondering if you needed a different shift shaft to get the conversion to work. Has anyone done this yet???

I have pasted the write up written by NothingSpecial below:

Same position (I bought a 2020 110L), and have had no luck finding a parts list. However, I did go through the OEM parts for both the 110 and 110L to compare, as well as take the clutch cover off for some analysis. Currently waiting on parts, but what I have found so far requires parts from the OEM Clutch diagram:

Starting with the Auto Clutch (Which I also bought used on Ebay):

(Part numbers reference the picture)13095, 92152A, 13193, 41036

You do not need the auto clutch disengagement from 13102a and everything to the right in the picture as the new clutch cover pushes against the bearing (92045 in the picture) directly.

Then the OEM Engine Cover(s) Diagram:

92049, 13270, 92009 (x2), and if you're anything like me, you will probably destroy the gasket 11061A

All of this from the OEM stuff as well as the Clutch Cover for the Auto to Manual conversion (I ended up buying mine through Ebay for 80 bucks from some company in Malaysia because TBOLT didn't have any in stock, or were shut down for COVID). I will let you know how it goes. Should be in within a week (definitely before Thanksgiving).

Right on, I did see that thread. He never posted back and said if it all worked out. I was just trying to figure out if that was all I needed. He mentioned having to get a new clutch cover and I have seen other places where you may not need that new cover. Also a special washer too.

Because I am converting a Kawasaki 110L that already has a clutch to a bike with a hybrid Clutch/Auto like the Rekluse Clutch, I may not need the new Clutch cover and that would save $170.

I had read in another post that the original 110L clutch cover may not have the correct geometry to move the standard 110 swapped auto clutch parts properly.

I have a 110 and a 110L sitting in front of me, looking at them they’re significantly different shaped.I don’t think the L cover would fit as looking at them it’s much smaller in diameter at the front and not nearly as wide/deep. Also you’d have to remove the clutch arm and then you’d have a gaping hole to contend with.

Thats probably why they mentioned getting the new clutch cover than. When you swap a 110L to an auto clutch you still need the clutch arm. You still use the clutch lever . . . In a way. The bike goes into neutral when you let off the throttle but you can put it into “clutch neutral” anytime by pulling the clutch lever. Check out a Rekluse Clutch demo on you tube. It would be the same as the setup Im trying to achieve.
