thank you thank you thank you

Really want to thank all of you guys 4 helping

It ending up being the breather hose.

What happen was the breather hose was pinch between the engine & the frame, so I am guess air had to escape somewhere & it did through the "shift indicator harness bolt"

learning alot!

but it seems one problem leads to another.

My front brakes are stuck:(:confused::(

I ended up taking it apart & I really think I messed it up.

I pull the lever when I took it off the disc & now the cynlinder is stuck, so I tryied to opened it again with a screw driver & I messed up the shoes:???:

Will I need to buy a new unit?

Clearer pic of the caliper please? (thought i needed new glasses)

Use a glue clamp to push the pads and the piston back into the brakecilinder, then pry the brakepads apart.

The rubber under the gascap is missing?

Yes, I've got everything cinched down in terms of adjustment to allow for maximum inner cable length, including the adjuster barrel on the perch.

I was contemplating taking the dremel to the bracket - just didn't want to do it unless as a last resort. I guess it's now a last resort situation.

Thanks.

Bill, only grind as a last resort. The theory being, cables are expendable and replaceable but brackets are not. It sounds like you just need a different cable. Finding the right length cables is somthing I hate with a passion:mad:

There are other ways to make the cable you have work. One thing I did for a short clutch cable was to remove the jam nut at the perch end. I have also removed some of the cable shroud to make the exposed cable longer.

So the best thing to do is use a clamp to push the cylinder back in place? the cylinder is really stuck:-?

mmmhm...rubber under the gascap?

Johnathan, you really should practice your photography skills :D

Do you have an air compressor? If so, remove the pads and blow the piston out through the banjo fitting hole. Kind of wrap a towel around the caliper as you blow the air because that piston will shoot out like a 12 gage slug!

use the macro mode on your camera for close up shots. First thing to do is remove those pads then loosen the banjo bolt so it'll relieve some pressure in the hydraulic lines then push the piston back in..get the pads on again you'll probably have to rebleed the lines.

You might not want to do that with an oil lubricated compressor.

Are you sure it's the cap or is it the tank? If it's the tank it sounds to me like part #7 is what you need. I remember mine rattling annoyingly like that before I got those little rubber nubs put on the frame.

Tank mount cushion. You can tell if that's the source of the noise by grabbing the front of the tank and moving it up and down unless you already have the tank off in which case just look for them on both sides of the frame. Also, go through the whole website and see if there are other parts you want to get before you order. Paying for shipping on a pair of $2.79 parts will only fill you with terrible regret.
