what do I need to do for this to work? I know I've seen pics of it and I would search it but it won't let me do 3 letter words (z50) so I can't find anything.

i dunno exactly what u need...but i'll assume u need atleast the z50 swinger to use the rear wheel!
do the xr50 brake panels fit in the z50 hubs?

If you have '80 through '99 Z50R wheels with 3-bolt hubs the XR/CRF50 brake panels will work with those wheels only, they do not work with the K1 through '79 4-bolt hubs.
Just a couple of spacers in the right spots and you'll be good to go.

do you know how far apart the legs are on z forks to fit that front wheel in? I doubt my forks would be wide enough but they are wider than stock...

I machined a 10.5mm spacer and added that to the exsiting spacer on the sprocket side. Then I flipped the rim halves so the wider side (valve stem side) was facing the drum brake.
