It's the same guy who was selling the crated Z50RD's that went for a gazillion dollars.

I'd be willing to bet the guy has no intentions of selling those bikes and is merely looking to stroke his ego.

Remember how the Z50RD seller was into corvettes?

It's the same guy. Read the thread below. This guy is a character to say the least.

I'll call it now. the price of that auction will either not get one bid or it will go through the roof and be ridiculous.

Ego Stroke with no intention of selling.

Z...... Thanks for filling us in and picking up on that. I saw the corvette in the back ground in one of his pics.

Hey guys!

So I actually know the guy selling these. Its my best friends younger brother. He's the guy Ken not the owner Greg. I have met Greg a few times and he is a true Z50 nut!!! He sold me a set of fork legs because they had marks in them from where the bolt snugs up to. He is that particular about his bikes.

If anyone has any doubts about this lot, rest assured its outstanding. So is the price but have you ever seen just an amazing group all in one place. Gives me chills!

About the ego stroking...

You may be right as I dont know the guy that well but my friend who is selling them is serious about it and would not waste his time otherwise.

Personally, I cant believe he is selling them all like that but I guess he's getting into something else. These just sit in his basement and no one really gets to see them. VERY particular who (if any) he would allow to see them. I cant blame him with how much money is in there.

Not trying to get my post count up ( 5 years/50 posts) but to me this takes 100% out of the fun of owning/riding the 'clown bikes'. To me the idea of riding a bike of this caliber is to retrospect of what I could not have at the time but now can, also with the ability of not annoying my neighbors to the point of calling someone with lights on their cars. Simple engineering is also a key point but where does the obsession stop. When do we stop having fun at the price of competition?

I met one of his buddies at a local swap meet near me. Told me he was looking for a ZB50 to complete his collection. The best part was the B.S.story about the Z5RD's in the crate.

He said Honda offered him $100,000 and his pick of any new 2009 Honda motorcycle for the pair of Z50RD's. The group of people that were listening to this looked at each other and fell out laughing. If bull**** was music these guys would have been the Beatles.

Real nice collection though!

It all comes down to what kind of person you are. I am a classic car guy. I have a nice collection and all get driven...hard. I was at Thunderbird show with my 57 and a trailer rolls up and unloads a total queen. Even had booties on the tires so they never actually touched the road. The put mega $$ into making it perfect and has never driven it. I can tell you this, he seems very happy with his choice.

Me, I would never be able to do that. The enjoyment for me is using them. Same with watches I collect. I wont buy one to keep in a safe. How boring!

So, to each his own. I can see both side I guess. I just wonder if there is a Honda Z50 nut out there with the pockets (and space) for this collection.

Doubt it. If you are this hobby to get rich, you made a poor choice. We all may want 2 or 3 of that collection, but to lay out that coin for a group of Z50's? Doubt it.

He just likes the attention it brings. Like Z said, strokin the ego.

See, look at the thread on this!
