A friend of mine did that. He used a TB 143 cylinder and the YX piston, head, cam. I dont know what the compression numbers are, but his ran.

What heads are you guys using, and what mods (if any) are needed for the exhaust pipe?

Unless you cut deeper valve reliefs; that ticking is the valves hitting the top of the piston. I had a TB 143 clyinder, 55mm crank, and a new style TB piston.

I would have been fine if I would have cut deeper valve reliefs in the piston.

Aight I guess he will recut the piston pockets and also use 2 base gaskets... that should do it.

any 110 pipe will work

correct, the valves hit the piston with the yx cam but if you pull the cam out of the yx head and use the tb klx race cam it will clear the stock piston. good little cheater engine.

Not with a stock KLX110 piston but if you use a smaller cam, then what's the point...

They needed to be cut wider on the TB piston. 1/8'' or so. I would have to actually measure my piston to get you an exact number.



Pull the motor apart and look at the cylinder walls.
