I would shy away from anything synthetic..........It causes major clutch slippage. Castrol is good, just make sure it doesnt have any of the slick additives in it

yep that's what i run. it's one of the few oils out that still have the zinc additive in it. great for the metal to metal contact that's in the tranny

 

i run ethier motul 20 50 or belray 20 50 with a shot of lukas

Looks a bit cheaper than the Castor too so all round bonus.

What is the best oil weight? 10w 30 any good? ive been running it in my 120 but it gets dirty very quick.

 

Recommend running the Castrol 10W/30 High Mileage. The High Mileage formula has some of the friction modifiers removed and works with wet clutches. I run this in all my Pitsters as well as my 250/450Fs. It cheap and Wal-Mart sells it by the gallon.

 

It sounds like you got an engine from OO Racing

Those guys swear that regular oil breaks down the rubber cush drive on the clutch, and that castor oil does not.

I run Silkolene 0w20 in one motor, Pro 4 20w50 in the other, both full synth, no clutch slip, no sign of clutch cush drive breakdown.

cheapest chinese break in oil is the best... lmaoo nah the zink in vr1 like dougtrip said is the best...imo. change it when ever its dirty. if your not riding that hard.. if you are, every time. but that oil cost adds up!

 

$3.28 for oil is cheap change it everytime if you ride hard or if you load it in the back of your mazda3... can't get oil on the leather!

 

any quality petroleum motorcycle blend should do you well. Just change it as often as your budget allows. I wouldnt go more than 3 rides without changing it though.

lmao yeah cooking oil works best for any chinese engines. seems like thats what they put in them. Whats better to go with a 10w, 20w, or 0w, and whats the difference?
