79 Z50R wheels. Is there a specific way the bolts are installed in the wheel halves? I know that it don't matter for strength, but was there a particular way they were installed originally? My thoughts are that the bolt heads should be on the valve stem side, and the valve stem on the right side of the bike. Just seems like it would look best that way.

You will notice that one wheel half is deeper than the other. That is the side the brake drum goes on. You will notice the wheel is off-center if placed on the other side.
Think you were chasing nuts/bolts info. On the front rim, the rim bolts go in on the hub side, nuts on the opposing side, same on the rear. I remember it as basically the same way the studs in the hub go through the rim the bolts go that way as well, so all the nuts end up on one side of one of the rim in both cases, on the front the nuts will be on the clearest side of the wheel, on the rear the nuts will be nearest the sprocket. Thats the OEM way, not sure if changing them alters strength or not !
