Hi all,
I have CRF110 that I would like convert to a motard bike...
I need help with selecting a set of decent motard tires. The CRF110 has stock 14" upfront & 12" in the back.
I will be using the stock rims for now due to $$$. Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Yeap motards my R1 all sport bikes run the same size diameter wheels front and rear. Two different diameters turn at different speeds and for leaning over and street racing you need them both same size.. In few instances there were some wheels that where 16.5 front 17 rear to help make the front turn a little better but that was in the 90s. Now there all the same size diameter wise.. Having a larger front will make the turning a lot slower than having a smaller front. Dirt bikes need the extra trail and stability of a larger front but not for street..

Rad doesn't make drum brake hubs, right now Buchannans doesn't have rims in 12" but will make custom spokes and install them for about $200 plus the price of the rims which don't exist yet , I am the only person importing the correct rear 12 x2.5 rims for anything but currently only for KLX 110, TTR 110/90 and KX 65. People in Texas (CMRA types) were using a 12 x 2.15 front rim blank that is the correct width for the front and then squeezing another front tire on the rear 12 inch which is a 1.6 inch or using the 2.15 (again too narrow , 2.5 " is the corrrect width) on the rear and squeezing on a rear tire. The handling problems change but are still very apparent if you go fast. The cheapest current solution is to buy tires like a Pilot Power set for the stock rims and try to wear them out while you wait a few months for my proper rims to come out. All the current solutions are flawed and expensive.

Kevin, all due respect that isnt true... I respect what your doing, which is making the set-up's for the bikes easier to find and getting the set-up at a better price. The sport needs it but I just want to clarify for those that dont know

I have 12x2.15 CACR rims from rad on my klx with stock hubs laced with HD spokes from buchanan (granted I am running a kx65 front end but you can do it for the stock klx front aswell).. rims were 119 each and the spoke sets were about 75 a peice

here is a link to the cacr 12x2.15

Holy crap, Taz - that thing is a beast! With a 201cc in a 50 frame, the bike will probably wheelie in all gears... I had a TTR50 with a Kitaco 88 bbk, cam, and 20mm carb - and 1st gear was useless in that bike. I dropped the rear sprocket from 37t (stock) to 32t and it still lifted the front end up with the smallest amount of throttle. How do you race that 201cc monster? To me, it would be like riding a mechanical bull around the track. Fun, but dangerous.

Hey @RIG - After much searching, here's what I found that will work with the STOCK CRF110 wheels... You can get all this from Motorcycle Superstore. They offer free shipping. (Front) Pirelli Diablo in 90/90-14. Pirelli Diablo Performance Front Scooter Tire - Scooter - Motorcycle Superstore (Rear) Michelin Power Pure SC in 110/70-12. Michelin Pilot Power Pure SC Front Tire - Scooter - Motorcycle Superstore This is what I will be running to practice until I get wider motard specific alloy wheels. Hope that helps. I will post a pic of this setup later....
