I put it in, I got it for $350. I am pretty sure that it has nothing to do with the kit, the kit is basically a gear on a shaft that turns the flywheel.

To be more specific, when it slips, it still has tension, it's just the motor doesn't turnover. I really think it is the clutch the way it feels.

The kickstarter on my son's Cobra will slip from time to time if I don't get the gears lined up just right. Cobra recommends to loosen all of the side cover bolts and then engage the kickstarter. Hold the kickstarter down while tightening the sidecover bolts. This will help to keep the gears meshed. I don't know if this will work on the TTR but it might be worth a try.

I don't have any idea. I haven't really looked at how the kickstart assembly and side cover go together on the ttr. Can you just engage the kickstarter enough to mesh the gears while tightening the bolts?

Kickstart Kit

I'm having the same problem with my kick start kit. It seems it has something to do with the shifter alignment? You know when you put the cover back on you have to get the stupid little 3 sided deal with the ball bearing in it lined up?? Along with the splined piece on the right spline!I dont know how to explain it so I wont even try. BUT, if you hold the shifer up while kicking it or put a little tension on it it will kick right over without slipping. Try putting it in gear and give it a kick also. Ive gotten that to work also. When Im not busy looking for some stronger wheels to hold up my fat ass ( haha 6'4 230lbs riding a fiddy ...haha) I'LL GO FIX IT AND TELL YOU WHATS WRONG .............. LATER

I don't think that you have your shifter aligned right. If I were to lift up or push down on the shifter at all it will slip more. If I hold the shifter all the way down or up, it will do nothing when I kick it. It works fine if your fifty runs great and you can kick it over slow every time to start it.

Yes You Need To Take It Back Out And Reinstall It. I Have No Problems With Mine. Also Shave Of That Extra 44 Grams Of Weight Of The Flywheel. What A Large Improvment.

Can you tell me where you took the weight off, anyway of getting a pic? i want to shave it down but i'm unsure of where to take the weight off

my bike did the same thing whenever I first installed my kickstart. Not sure what was wrong, I took it apart, put it back together and it worked fine.
