The AMA effectively killed the 150F for racing. It remains to be seen if the 150F can compete against 112cc two strokes. Giving the Supermini two strokes 7 more cc's does not make sense and doesn't seem all that fair to me. Now what will happen in two years when the other manufactures have theirs? What a pile of protectionism BS. Honda gets punished to be the first to market and the AMA gives the rest of the slackers more cc's and a few years to catch up. Anyone take a look at the current crop of 85cc two strokes? Not very compelling compared to a new aluminum frame 250F. In fact many of the 85's have hardly had any changes for almost 20 years! Consumers want this technology just like they have proven in the big bike classes. Seems to me that letting the market (AMA members and consumers) decide what they want didn't factor in to their equation. Instead the slacker Oe's, two stroke aftermarket companies, people that don't have kids racing and racing families that are connected to other brands influenced the AMA. I think the whole thing stinks. I feel better now!

it is bullsh!t they only made a "schoolboy class" and the "85 big wheel class for 12 to 16 years olds class". wheres the adult class for the 150R? its probably 10 to 1(adults to kids) that are buying these things.

i also read some crap about 250cc 2 smokes are going to be racing 250f,s what the hells going on here?

If you just now noticed that now well...thats good, but a little slow. Ever since that new guy (Dont know his name) took over, the AMA has been GAY!!

I love how you act like you know what your talking about. It's not one person who make the rules. Ama congressmen submit them, then vote on them.

You actually had say in this aswell if you were an ama member. You had your chance to write or call your congressman to tell him where you sit on the issues.

AMA Redeemed them selves this year with the fair class ruling.

They actually did the best thing for our sport. 250cc two strokes will now run with 250cc four strokes. This is how racing should be. And the stupid crf150r THANKFULLY can't run in the 85 class.

AMA saved motocross.

where did you find this out at??

Ok I didnt know that, but it seemed to me that ever since (is his name Steve Whitelock?) came into power I guess you could say they (AMA) have made decisions that seemed to me, rediculous. I am not an AMA member, so I didn't know it was a group decison, but if the process is as you say it then it would seem to me that Steve the president and therefore he makes the final decision...am I right?

No, congress votes, and that's how they decide. There are some thing like 40-50 people in the ama congress. The ruling about classes only concerns ametuer racing for now. The pros will still run 125cc two strokes iwth 250cc four strokes. That will probably change eventually aswell.

BS kids 12 to 16 can race it in the 85 big wheel class and in the school boy class where you coming up with this ruin motorcross bullsh!t is your MINI a 2 smoke? i dont think so,you just ah hater. you probably have 250 2 smoke from long ago.

yah the AMA powers that be are probably parents of kids that race 2 smokes because there is no other reason for this. they didnt do anything to help the sport. kids in michigan have already been racing the 150r in the 85e class. industry will WIN out. its just a bunch of parents mad that there 2 smoke sucks and arent worth anything now and dont know sh!t about 4 popers cause 2 smokes are easy to work on and cheap its all POLITICAL!

PS honda isnt make a single 2 smoke anymore so we will see.

4 strokes killen the sport? what the hell you talken about willis? have you gone to a National,or Supercross lately? thers not a single pro riding a 2smoke anymore. 2008 there will not be a 2 smoke sold in america. sh!t ever Bubba couldnt win on a 2 smoke. the AMA is doing alot more BAD then GOOD. its alright there will be no 2 smokes soon enough. you dum as hell 2 smoke lovers.

I agree with Conway, i think the 4 strokes ruined it to begin with not the AMA, and racing shouldnt end up as a whos daddy has more money game it should be all about skills. I am liking what the ama did and it will shut down the 4 strokes for sure!

They aint shut down SH!T go to your local track and see what the good riders are riding 4 strokes hell almost all riders for that matter. kids will still be racing the 85,s on the 150R next year so the smart parents will be getting there kids 150r,s ,less maintenance more reliable and SAFER. you guys are JUST HONDA HATERS when your favorite company comes out with a 150 you,ll be all over it.

I'm not going to continue to argue with some one who doesn't even know how to use grammar or spell.

When I say four strokes are ruining the sport, i'm talking about the 250fs, and 450f. Not pitbikes.

You're to imature to understand how tracks all over the country are closing due to noise polution from four strokes. Or how the signicant increase of owning and maintaining a four stroke makes riders quit racing.

The fact that you said four strokes are more reliable. less maintenance, and safer proves you know absolutely nothing about engines, or the sport. Please come back with a valid arguement typed in english.

For your info, I owned hondas all my life... xr50, xr80, cr80, cr125, and now another crf50. There are three hondas sitting in my garage right now. I didn't dislike honda untill they anounced they would no longer continue production of two strokes.

Continue to ride your playbike in your backyard.

Ride what ever you want...I would almost bet that half the people who posted are not even AMA members or have ever competed in a local district race. I raced a CR250 for years and recently bought a YZ450f because it was time for a new bike and I always liked the thumpers. I am an average C class rider...no way I can ride a 250 (2 stroke) or the 450 to its full potiential. It's not like the thumpers cost double and no one can afford them. JUST RIDE WHAT YOU LIKE!

agreed. We are having problems in our area when we ride four strokes because they are a louder sound, and whenever i rode my twosmoke 125 we wouldnt hear anything from them. I have a CRF250R w/ FMF 4.1 and a CRF450. Some say its because by luck they arent home when I ride the two smoke, but I dont think its the case. I was told its because people are "used" to hearing something that sounds like a weedwacker so we never got yelled at.

Face it, 4 strokes ARE getting tracks closed. Its the cold truth, and it needs to be realized. Ask any pro mxer and they will say that that has alot to do with it, including mindless idiots tresspassing, destroying stuff, etc.
