Stock TTR50 vs. CRF50

Has anyone ridden both the TTR50 and The CRF50 in stock form? I am curious about the differences as they are both 50cc but the Yamaha has a smaller bore/longer stroke. The honda is 39.0mm x 41.4mm bore/stroke and the yamaha is 36mm x 48.6mm bore/stroke. Both have similar comp. ratio's and a 13mm carb. This would lead me to think the TTR would have more torque due to the longer stroke, any first hand account's?

Thanks

I have ridden both from stock I bought my ttr on monday mainley because the honda shop was closed I'm pretty new to the pit bike thing. So anyway my buddie bought his crf on tuesday we broke them in and raced on saturday.I weigh 180 and he about 200 so we raced I pulled away but he was a little quicker from the start so for the ttr catching up to him and passing him up by quite a bit show to me which bike is faster. Then I decided to ride his bike and I won the race on his bike given I didn't win by much.In my personal opinon they are very close. Now I have put gytr pipe and air filter also jet kit in my bike he has out 18mm card and bbr pipe on his crf also I have put sp5 forks and staggs swing arm on it with chrommo frame but now the I'm about a bike and a half ahead that is full board down the road I also have 2.75 starrcross front and rear. So in my final saying either bike is sweet but maybe honda should have been open on monday maybe not though.

They are both pretty gutless stock. The TTR i rode wasn't anything special. I remember picking up noticable power with my stock XR's after doing the ignition mod. The TTR is no torque monster with its longer stroke. It should work better with bbk's eventually though. You could ver easily get a 106 out of that TTR where you would need to stroke a CRF. I wouldn't buy a TTR due to the lack of aftermarket...unless you plan on staying at 49cc's for a long time. Then you gotta deal with that goofy fender..haha.

i just threw my stock ttr on the dyno today with the stock rear tire and it made 2.59 hp, we also threw a stock crf50 on that had the baffle cut out and an air filter on it. The crf also had the stock rear tire on and the highest on that was 2.40 hp. I am happy with my ttr and i think its a well built bike. The aftermarket parts market on them isn't that big yet but I don't plan on going crazy with the mods on it.

Its tough right now, BBR only has a limited line of items available. Wheels, shock, forks and 1 swingarm (yes, one swingarm). No big bar kit, no chain guides, no tall seat. It has really put Yamaha in a good position, since they had it all ready when they released the bike. Pretty smart move.

Nothing against BBR, limited resources force you to prioritize these things, unfortunately the TTR isn't at the very top.

bbr is actualy puting allot more in there selection for 06 including bars (but i havent herd the best reviews about them) but two brothers is probably putting out the most and there really good quality stuff.
