Found some that go up to 125cc but none to 140. Is this a fitment issue or just too small for the displacement. Trying not to put a big ugly can style exhaust on mine if I don't have to. Any help is appreciated.

Put it in a roller this past week. Should be getting the rest soon but having issues with what to do about the exhaust.

Before.

I believe the 140's longer cylinder moves the exhaust port too far for the stock exhaust to mount - I have been wrong before, and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. You most likely wouldn't want knock off exhaust on a 140 anyway, it'd be wheezy at best. The china knockoffs have a sadistically small 10mm outlet and the late model version has a catalytic converter crammed into the head pipe.

I got one of the earlier ones, swapped the head pipe onto stock exhaust. I've got a bit of chassis work to do prior to bolting in my 108. I've read where guys have gone all out and gutted the stock can, but never stock can with aftermarket head pipe or gutted stock can and aftermarket head pipe.

Trailbuddy had a modded knockoff (large diameter head pipe, gutted muffler) for reasonable coin, but have it listed as out of stock - due to the catalytic converter or just shortage of ??? This could be modded (add material to head pipe to make up shortage in length), but...

Takegawa has a dead sexy down pipe for about $250. If my large diameter headpipe/stock can doesn't work out, that's the direction I'm going.

Thanks for your reply Raymond. I had no clue they would be sticking cats in these pipes but it makes since with the knockoffs being street legal and all. I have decent to good fab skills so lengthening or shortening wouldn't be an issue at all. I'm wondering if IDE be better off stripping just the muffler part from one of the knock off pipes and adding it to a big bore pipe. My thing with the exhaust you linked is I think they look way out of place on a small mini bike. They look good and natural on a streetbike. And I love the vintage look of the long skinny muffler on the stock CT70's. I did think of opening up one of the knockoff stock looking pipes but I don't want to end up with an annoyingly loud straight pipe that looks like a muffler. Keep the advice coming guys. Thanks

I've got a 140 in my 91 ct70. I have a couple cheap china pipes that look stupid and are annoyingly loud. I ended up putting my stock pipe on. It's super quiet, but I lost a bunch of top end. My goal is quiet, without sacrificing too much. I want to walk that fine line. My plan was to buy a stock style pipe and open up the muffler, modify for a little better flow, and see what happens. I ordered a reproduction unit off eBay, when it came, I found it has a much bigger head pipe (about 22mm). Not sure what its going to sound like, but seems to be well built. I'm heading two provinces east to get hitched next week, and when I return to Quebec in about two weeks ill be bringing my 70 with me.

Basically my plan is to try this new pipe in stock form, if its still too stifling on the top end, ill split it open and start to modify the baffles for a little more flow.

The stock pipe will fit the bike with a 140, if you slot the rear mount hole towards the rear. I had to. Tack a bit of material on to the mounting tab, as the mount wants to sit right at the end of the tab, so you'd have to slit it all the way to the end. This new unit seems to have a longer mount tab with an already elongated hole. I should know in a couple weeks how its gonna work.

Hi guys. Dropped the ball on this one. Been rebuilding my husaberg and traveling a lot with work. But I installed the new knockoff pipe. Was bang on what I was looking for. Slighty louder than the original pipe, but I gained a lot of my top end back. It's still not like the other "free flowing" pipes I have, but it's great for me. The 140 will pull to 110km no troubles. I'm waiting on a smaller rear sprocket to bring my rpm down. The noise level is definitely acceptable.
