Picked up a set of bbr replica forks (ssrforks) changed the oil in them, they feel great but say when I'm doing a wheelie when the front end goes to drop the last inch it springs down pretty hard. Does that mean I need to add a little more oil ?

What size? 125-160 is 6oz min

How much oil did you put in when you changed it? Is it bottoming out when you set the front end down from a wheelie? I used 150cc in my SSR forks.

i put 6 ounces in each leg, but today i took apart the forks and noticed where the damping rode connects to the bottom of the fork there was a spring between the two. (i forgot to take a picture) but is that suppose to be there? if i take that spring out would that maybe stop the springing back ? or do i need that there.

also whats the thickest oil i should put in there? forks a still springy and slap down when i go off a lip

Were the forks used or new? Those forks are pretty low quality and dont have the tightest tolerences so I ended up going with 20wt fork oil after trying 10 and 15. Even with the 20wt they are under dampened.

No, because I am only using one spring to soften it up for my 70lb son.

The cheap SSR forks don't have damping seals, bushings, or rebound check valve. All this together equals very little damping even when using 20wt.

yeah i got the forks to feel pretty nice after throwing some 80w tranny fluid in them lol, nice and smooth now thanks for the help
