Hi guys,

I have a stock lifan 125 cc in a pit bike.

Its pretty loud at the moment and wanna quieten it down.

I have aloready repacked the stock muffler with steel wool, which made it a little quieter.

This is the exhaust i have at the moment-

Does anyone have any other ideas on how to make it quieter without spending too much ?

I have seen those silencer end caps, does anyone know if they would work and if so where to get one.

I want it near the sound of a postie bike so my neighbours wont complain.

maybe try a stock 50 exhaust. I am currently trying to build a dual exhaust with 2 stock exhuasts becuase i have the same problem as you with the neighbors. But i am lazy and only work on it like a couple of hours a month. But when I am done it should be super quiet, hehe.

I put a DBsnorkel on my YZ250 and it cut the sound way down. It was around $100 shipped but I'd buy it again.

hmm i have never seen that. How did it perform after you put it on? It looks like it would hurt performance but I guess you gain in noise reduction. But my 2 strokes aren't that loud compared to the stupid 450's I ride with.

yeah just use a stock 50 exhaust. i use a stock exhaust on my gpx around the neighborhood and its almost as quiet as a 50.

Do you have an import?

I was thinking about buying a stock exhaust, but I don't want to loose to much power, and I also don't want to have too much of problem mounting it.

I didn't have to rejet my YZ250 at all with the DBsnorkel. It looks funny but it only weighs under 2 lbs. and it didn't loose any power and may have gained some bottom end. When I get my new pitbike I'm going to swap it over to test.

It does make a bike quieter at full throttle. My YZ sounded nearly the same at idle but when I swapped bikes with a friend I lost him and couldn't hear him even though he was over half throttle 70' away.

When I do one for the pit bike I'm only going to buy the main chamber and J-tube and 2 metal couplers to save some cash and I'll cut the outlet side in half and put that on the back of the J-tube. Look at the picture on thier parts list and it'll make sense.
