Looking for advice on a decent shock upgrade over the stocker for my wifes 110. Trail riding only no MX track stuff. Are there any shocks from another bike that might be modded to work with the 110?

Hi flyn62, for now I'm not really looking at spending a bunch on the shock. She's still learning so she really wouldn't need a works shock just yet. I guess I'm looking for something to get buy with till her skillz advance a bit more. We put on a set of kx60 forks, and that helped a whole lot. Now I was thinking about something with a bit more travel in the rear would be good for now.

if you get the stiffer spring buy the mild one i wiegh 160 and the aggressive is way to stiff for me but i thot cus i jump it alot it would be good but i tried the mild spring it it works great for people 190 and lower espeacialy if ur just trail riden

a stiff spring is a pain in the ass for actuall trails literally when we run from the cops andu git a decent branch the whole rear end pops from how stiff it is but it depends on what u consider trails and u should get works cause u will get more ride hight

Yeah tell us more about running from the cops..

Anyway, the DRZ/KLX 125 guys are using modified CR85 or KX100 shocks. I guess I was hoping there was a shock from another bike that guys have successfully used with the KLX110. But it sounds like the Works shock is the way to go.

I put a pro wheel shock on one of my 110's and it works great,$170

Pro WHO?

If you don't want to spend money to get a good shock (Works, Elka, Fox) don't even bother because chances are you'll just be blowing money on a subpar Chinese strut or pogo stick.

The reason I ask about the shock is I am considering adding a longer aftermarket swingarm and shock to a 05 KLX 110, but I can only afford one mod at a time. I was thinking about adding a longer shock and later adding a longer swingarm (probably Sikk 110's). What length shock do I need to work with both the oem swingarm and a longer aftermarket swingarm? How much more travel and ride height will a shock give me? How about the travel and ride height with a shock and aftermarket swingarm? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm new to pitbikes and just learning.

jrotten, hey thanks man for the input on the pro wheel shock. I was looking at one at a friends shop not long ago. He had order one for 50 but they sent him one that the box listed it for a klx110. So he was mounting it on his street legal 110. Never did ask him what he thought of it, plus he rides it on the road anyway.
