Hi I have a 2001 kx 65 and I want to know if a 85 cylinder will fit it?

I thought the 82cc big bore kit was the biggest but lukes racing makes a 85cc kit which make`s me think that a kx 85 cylinder will fit right on?

Can anyone help me?

OR could I bore it out to 85cc and put a kx 85 piston kit in it?

The kx 65 specs are

44.5 x 41.6 mm (1.8 x 1.6 inches)

and the kx 85 specs are

48.5 x 45.8 mm (1.9 x 1.8 inches)

Thanks guys

No, No, No, No.... The cylinder stud spacing would be all wrong. The 85 has a power valve and everything else.

If you want the BEST solution for a built KX65 motor, contact Gene @ High Tech Horsepower, or a reputable two stroke tuner.

Another solution, and a better one IMO-- (and this is coming from somebody who HAS a 65, AND a KX100) would be to get a 2001+ KX85. Lace up 12/14 rims, and run a KX100 top end on it. It all bolts right up, and you can probably get away with just springs in the forks and shock. Once you did build up a 65 motor ($1500 or so), you'd find that you'd need another $6-700 into the suspension on it for it to not be dangerous with an adult aboard. Hope this helps. --L*64

I just put a Luke's racing 85 cc kit on my KX 65 set up for roadracing and it pulls the front end up thought 3rd gear ( not a little bit ,it tries to loop you out).

I was going to do the athea 82cc kit but I found the Luke's racing kit and it has a custom wiseco piston, and that is what sold me on the kit. Knowing wiseco and not athea.

the Kx 85 is to big for the mini tracks the KX 65 is the perfect size bike no matter how big you are for roadracing minis
