By knock off KLX do you mean mid size in general (12" rear wheel) or just KLX plastic? NONE of the china bikes will except a KLX engine. They all take the honda or honda style lower ends, be it a stock honda 50 engine on up to the 235cc china big blocks. Chinese mid-size bikes come in most flavors, be it KLX plastics, CRF70 plastics or the TTR 110 plastics. Most wheels and forks can be interchanged as long as you still a higher end china bike such as SSR, Piranha, or Pisster. Dont listen to all the talk from people on here trashing china stuff. While SOME of it is trash, the chinese have stepped it up the past few years and there is some good stuff out there. Its all on how you maintain and build your bike that determines the life of it. If you build a 235cc engine and jump 130ft with it, chances are it wont last long. (That kind of abuse will wear a bike out quick, no matter WHERE ITS MADE). However, it will be VERY fast, and you will reach that HP MUCH cheaper than going with a jap bike. Regardless of where they are made, these little engines arent made to be built that big and for a 200lb pro to bang out 30 min motos on them. THEY WILL ALL BREAK. Just take care of your bike, wash it, go over it with a wrench, keep your filter clean, change the oil, check your valves... you'll be fine.
