So heres the deal guys,I want to get a pit bike and I'm 14, so I'm definately going to have to "wing it". But I know I can do it, I just havn't decided what bike and parts to take, that's where you come in ! I've decided between getting a KLX 110 or a CRF 70 hopefully in moderately nice condition for under 700 (assuming that I will not be able to find a bike that already has what I want and need). So that brings us to the fun part-- mods ! I will have about an 700-800$ budget, maybe able to push it to 1000 tops. Im going to leave the talking to you guys and let me help decide between what bikes and mods to get. But here is what I'm thinking: Klx;Bars,BBR 143 kit, TB manual clutch,PC T4 pipe, Tires (Dunlop or Maxxis ?), U-Flow, BBR Stiff Spring (front and rear) or possibly a BBR Shock ? And BBR Damping rods accomponied of course by fresh oil and seal if necessary. Crf;TB 88 kit, TB manual clutch,Stiff springs and some billet stuff (brake pedal, foot pegs etc.) let me know what you think guys !

I would go with the klx 110 for sure, lot more aftermarket parts for it. An your line up of parts is a great start, I wouldn't go with the rear stiff spring though. From what I read its a waste of money, your better off buying a rear shock. Fox makes an awesome rear shock for the 110 or if your not trying to spend that much DNM rear shocks are good as we'll.

BBR is over-priced in my honest opinion and you can save a LOT of money on your price list if you do some brand swapping. Try TB for all your stuff, it's essentially the same thing and as long as you aren't going MENTAL, it'll last. Either way you go, make sure you have fun w/ it!

Personally id go crf70 Because they arent as common with that in mind there are virtually no parts for them. Its a lot of one off or making stuff work/ searching for parts that do.

In your position I'm saying 110 all day long. The mods will come cheaper and you can piece it together as you get more money. Bbr makes very high quality parts and all the guys in there are great to deal with. If your budget allows go bbr if not get what you can to get you by till you can afford what you ultimately wanted. Be very careful though this can turn into an addiction and we wouldn't want to see a 14yo on interventions.lol
Go 110 get a cradle and some better suspension and ride the piss outta it.

This is true but at 14 how many people have the ability to fab stuff. Not saying the op doesn't just generally most 14yo don't.
Most 50 parts that bolt on are gonna be like replacing stock parts with pretty ones, No real advantage. Maybe a +4 50 swingarm but they aren't all that common to run across the forks will be short. It'll be a lot of run around, this part + this part = this setup. A lot of people are running stock 70 parts on their mod 50s for a cheaper alternative.

Not saying don't go 70 just in my opinion for a first mini I wouldn't without a little bit of homework so you know what your getting into.

Good point, I can weld well, but dont have access or skill to operate any machines so without one, the other is pointless. The only thing that makes me want the 70 is that 1:they are more unique. 2:They are cheaper to find clean and stock. Thanks for the help guys, I think I will end up going with the 110, hopefully I can find one that already has most of the stuff on it so I can save more. As you could assume, I have other big things I need to work hard towards like getting a 125 and a truck soon, it goes with out saying that "money will be tight" haha.
