Hey fellow Zb'ers, this is fastbmw coming at 'cha from thailand. Man, is this country scooter crazy. Most are really beat up, but there are the occasional 150 honda's that look pretty sweet. Tons of Honda Wave's and Nice's and loads of Yamaha's, suzuki's and kawi's. It's pretty neat to see all the different kinds of scooters out there. I wish I could steal half the parts of those bikes. 110 engines are everywhere! I don't think anyone even runs a 50. I saw a "Team Yamaha" gathering today, a bunch of yamaha enthusiasts with team t-shirts and jackets out for a ride with their modded yamaha scooters. Most of the mods were just for flash, blue rims and 'brembo' brakes (yeah right). haha. I also saw one guy on a kawi KSR riding on Khao San road (the famous backpacker's hangout). Wow that bike is way better in person. I really want one now!
I went by Faddybike a couple of days ago. It's like any store in asia, messy and really non-descript but had lots of hidden gems. Takegawa parts were just lying around, no real display of anything. (Rims, LCD meters, suspension/swingarms...) The shop did have 2 modded Honda Gorilla's, a new Cub and a CT70 (?) on display. They are quite nice. I talked to the owner for a bit, his english was quite good. We talked about ZB's and he asked me my opinion on a new ZB exhaust they are designing. Pretty nice guy, I ended up buying a resi shock for one of my ZB's. It wasn't very cheap, just a tich over $100 USD but I figured I traveled so far, I might as well buy something while I was there. It's the one that's on the faddybike website, It's definitely no Ohlins but what the heck. I asked about buying a 110 nice engine and the guy wanted about $1300 US shipped. Holy cow! But it would've been completely rebuilt (I saw one all taken apart in his office.) but only in 110cc's. I took only a couple pics and I'll post them when I'm back in Canada. Maybe I'll end up buying some more junk for my ZB when I'm here.....
