Well to those of you who were following and helping me with my carb revving problem this is what I found. Spraying the motor down with Carb Cleaner I found that the head gaskets both top and bottom are leaking!!! Everytime carb cleaner hits it on the outisde they start bubbling and the bike revs up. Has anyone ever had this issue? I am worried the heads might be warped!! Do you think if I bought new gaskets top and bottom and replaced them and put head on to torque spec the leaks will be fixed? Help me if you can this has turned into a big project!!

Yea thanks guys.. Ordered up a complete top end gasket kit today. I never have seen a top end leak air like that, thats where my worries started to come in. Has anyone seen this happen or have this happen to them personally? How hard do you think replacing these gaskets are going to be? And also do you think the cylinder heads themselves can be warped causing my problem.

Yea I am completely pissed about it. I dont know if the gakets were ever reused or anything like that cause I bought it used about three months ago. Just found out about the head issue last night as I have been working thru other issues I have found.

Could is also be possible someone didnt torque spec down the cylonder also and it worked its way loose?

yeah when I put in the 88 kit it ran great than it started making this weird popping sound almost like pinging but even louder at idle to slight rev

cant remember who on here right away told me to retorque down the bolts and sure enough hasnt made that sound and its ran perfect ever since!

whoever that was thanks! :)

so yeah it might be as simple as just tightening up the head bolts a little that worked for me!
