THAT IS REALLY IMPRESSIVE! CAN YOU SEND ME AN AIR SAMPLE? I WANNA FIND OUT EXACTLY WHAT UR ALL SMOKIN OVER THERE!!! HAHAHAHA

SERIOUSLY THAT AWESOME 20HP OUT OF A YX160 NICE!!!!

Thanks, btw i smoke Malboro Lights....i think you can get them over the pond.

Any ideas on a cam for the Daytona? Or maybe it's port size that's now the limiting factor? We really need the twin cam head me thinks....

are you using the stock clutch on the 160?

I rode this motor in a pit pro since i am on their team. It had a pwk 28 on it. All i can say as compared to my yx 150 and yx 160 this motor absolutly kills them. Much faster through out the whole range and revs to the moon. The trans is much smoother also. Im not saying the yx motors are bad at all, the daytona is just a much nicer motor.

Akunar claims to have an 8mm lift cam at times, no idea on timing or duration. Beyond that I think you're at the point where you're going to have to have your cam reground to get anything wilder. If you fit a larger intake valve, I believe you'll move the power curve up a bit.

You mentioned going to a YX head gasket, YX140, or YX150/160? (IE, is the head using KLX or Lifan 120 stud patterning?)

Hi there, we will be doing some work on cam re-profiling on the twin cam head when it is available, but due to cost we are waiting till then. on this engine we used the z-40 cam which has quite a bit of overlap, but i feel opens/closes too late. A combination of the 2 cams would probably work best i.e. a re-profile of the original Daytona with more overlap.

We use stock clutch on 160, but yes it does slip until the engine is fully warmed through. The key is not to use any fully synthetic oils. We use a basic 10 w 40 semi synthetic.

The tin gasket we used is from the YX140. The base gasket from the 140 also fits perfectly.

Do you know if it's timed better for a longer stroke engine? Where can i get one to try?

I don't know the answer on that one, as I don't have the actual timing numbers, just a couple people mentioning thats what differentiates it from the Z40. I'm not sure if Honda TB has a UK vendor or not, I'll see if I can track one down for ya. Otherwise, I'd see if one of the US vendors is up for shipping to the UK as it's a small part, shouldn't cost much to send over.

My build GPX 150 with takegawa head (S35 cam) is faster compared to a stock daytona 150 with PWK 28mm.

With longer gearing I pull the daytona out when I am in 4th gear (low rpm's) while the daytona is still in 3rd gear.

But I think the daytona with the new 4 valve DOHC kit which comes, is damn

fast.
