i would like to know how the springs are installed and if you guys can show pics if possible.

basically my rear brakes work, but dont skid if i slam them, and the pedal dosnt spring back as it should.

i have a spring on the pedal that is supposed to pull it back up.

i know that i have at least one spring wrong because its just half assed in there. once i see some pics or get some good advice ill be able to compare it to my bike.

thanks alot guys!

Here are pics of the rear brake system from Honda parts fiche.

The pic named "CT70 Rear Wheel" illustrates the rear wheel and brake assembly with all relevant springs shown in their correct locations.

Pay particular attention to the following items in this picture: #19 and #17

#19 are the springs that connect the brake shoes.

#17 is a spring that mounts behind (and catches on) your rear brake actuating arm (#16)

The second pic, "CT70 Rear Brake Pedal" shows the pedal, linkage and springs in their correct locations.

Pay particular attention to the following items in this picture: #10, #2, #4.

#10 is the brake pedal return spring

#4 is the the compression spring involved in brake adjustment

#2 is for the tail light switch (not strong enough to make pedal spring back)

Hopefully these pics will help clarify your issue.

Improper assembly or adjustment of any braking item shown in these pictures could contribute to your described problem. The best thing may be to disassemble and then reassemble - using these factory diagrams as a guide.

Good Luck !
