Keep in mind both Tmas, I and others had a chance to purchase those for $7,000 for the pair a year ago and I remember when those bikes were purchased on ebay at north of $3500 a piece a couple of years back.

I'll be interested to see if we should have purchased them or not :D

Notice all the Schwinns in the background. Those are worth some $$ as well.

Wonder who bought that one in Birmingham. Wow. great price.

Why did they guy specify no shipping to California?

He said he saw something pop up when he was listing the ebay ad, and that it was something about registering the bike. He linked me to a CA DMV page, but it was talking about off highway registered vehicles.

I'm guessing he was just mistaken, and he told me he was willing to crate it and take it to a Greyhound station. I just dropped the ball and didn't bid in time.

Not sure. It's similar to forward air, from what I understand, in that you have to go to their terminal to drop off and pick up.

I haven't actually shipped with them yet, but a few guys I know that have say it's pretty much THE cheapest way to go.

It's also slow as heck! It's bus terminal to bus terminal shipping. People ride in the seats, and cargo goes down below.

Oh yeah!??! I bet it's faster than your fancy-pants Over stuff from Japan! HAH!

:D

I wonder how much slower it is than, say, UPS Ground or USPS?

You want to place a bet on that? It only takes 4 days to get parts here from overseas.

Fedex Ground is 3-4 days

UPS Ground is 6-10 days

USPS Priority and USPS regular mail take the same exact time.

Greyhound depends on the route schedules and destinations and could take a couple of weeks.

On sold One to go. Ya I am the idiot who tossed the crate.

Those chromies were a BS auction from I heard so don't put to much value on a crate!

I have mine in my family room. I do not think there are many families that would allow rusted sharp metal there. The other option is the garage where they would deteriorate.

Any one wanna step up for the second bike?? PM me if so. Once in a life time deal for those of you who have a passion for these bikes.

Dan, this isn't quite correct. The ground networks are almost verbatim. I worked in this industry and actually designed the flows. The longest time in transit for UPS ground was from the southern tip of FL to the NW and that was 7 days. Both offer 1-7 day ground in the contiguous 48.

For example lots of So Cal is one day to the Bay Area, the rest is two tops.
