Ok men. Today imma gonna explain what I had to do to put a larger carb on my new CRF110.

(FYI this is the carb that comes with the TB 88cc kit. 22mm... I think. Stock 110 is 13mm.

I wanted to use the stock cable if I could (I know, I'll need a longer one anyway when I mount up my zocchi's) lightly held cable in vise and cut off the crimped end.

Once that is off, and Hopfully you didn't hog up the rubber/plastic sleave in the elbow. Ill reuse this in the larger carb cap.

Carefully pull the sleeve out of the stock elbow. If you pull too hard, and a small burr catches it, it will ball up and it will stay like that.

I got a different 20mm intake, but I noticed the stock intake looked bigger then expected... So I measured it, and its all but 20mm... So I decided to just use the stock intake.

I did not use the stock choke set up. But the fuel line and vent tube are all correct length for this carb!
Bolted it all up and gave it a try.

1st attempt the carb was way lean. Long story short, needle is in the 2nd to richest position and I had to go up 2 sizes on both ends of the jetting.

Here you can see how small the stocker is in my hand compared to the TB carb.

results....
Motor is much stronger! Tickled pink!!! The exhaust tone is also noticeably different. Not louder, just a change in tone. If the bike came with this carb.... I swear it would make the cover of Time magazine... Or be featured on USA Today show!

Im calling it now. Carb upgrade will be best bang for buck! (Tho I hope I'm wrong;-) )

Ya know Mr.Polo, I have mixed feelings on the air box. Certainly I want the most efficiency as possible, but here are my 2 reasons for toying about keeping it on....

1) Tho I'll never ride threw a creek on my 110, a mud puddle does/will be... And in the past I've pulled water through a pod and it put the flame out.

2) I understand I could be wrong on this... But I've noticed... The air box seems to fix the "bog" that plagues motor mods to our minis. I know the box does fat'en up the jetting, and that may be the reason... But in the past... Like the TB 88 kits that every one and their brother has... How many of us spent countless hours trying to get that damn bog out. I think that large volume of stagnate air helps to make the bike rev at quick wick of the throttle.

Your thoughts?

My buddy has a klx 110 done out and is alway's playing with his jetting as there alway's seem's to be a bog somewhere,he took my lxr for a ride(with the airbox still attached)and came back saying how responsive and no bog's(and he tried too)in the motor.Had that same engine in my x4r(with pod) and it had some slight bog issue's.I'm sold on airbox's.

I laugh at big bucks... I can promise you I've miss place and lost waaay more cash than that TMR28 is worth.

But FYI a 28mm carb will not work so good on anything under 150cc's. it's better suited for 160cc - 200cc's.

like I said under 150cc's not accel pump options.

How does your bike run Jordo with that 26mm carb on it? Do you lose bottom end when going to a bigger carb? I'm wondering what size carb to get that will just bolt up with everything else? BBR's 18mm kit is still not available. What size will be the best with just a pipe and rev box nothing else? Also where do I get it, thanks.

BBR's carb kit has been out for months.

18mm would be prime for this. Jordo is using a 26 on a not so 110 lol
Thanks!
Agreed, an 18mm carb is perfect for the amount of air a stock 110cc motor can pull. My motor... Due to displacement increase and port/valve/seat modification I mathematically can run a 28mm carb and still be in the window of efficient power production.

They are all the same man. But get it from TB because they support this site. Who cares if its a few dollars more. How much is the info on this site worth to you?

Pricless.

Dont give your money to some no name drunk Russian who is scamming you to steal your identity so he can get outta his shit hole country. Leave his ass there, don't bit hands that feed you, and moto happily ever after! :)

Nope... im running it on my 88 kit right now. Is somewhat a pain to tune but once you get it it runs fine. There still is a little bog on my bike when I yank the throttle but it doesn't bother me as I dont race it...

Its all personal preferance some say this is the best carb for the 88 kit and others will argue with it.

Ill just be running it on a stock motor with the yoshimura exhaust. I'm not going to change the air filer/take off the air box cause the box is made to help keep the bog away (and not to mention water). My next question is how hard is it to make the throttle cable fit correctly? I have the BBR tall bar kit on the way and it comes with a new cable. I'm sure I will have to modify it right?
