The speedo part is dead nuts to my GPS when paired with a 120/90-10 front tire. The mileage isn't even close.

 

Thanks for the info. I wonder if I can take apart my old speedo (OEM) and re-gear this new one for correct mileage. I need to know the mileage more than the speed.

Also, does yours light up more on the right side then the left side??

I take you for your word, but why would a speedo be calibrated for tires that are much larger then the 3.5X10's equipped on the chinese bikes?



This tells me no matter which way you slice it, the speedos are calibrated incorrectly for the tires and speedo drive they were designed for.

That is correct...complete and absolute junk IMO. But my stocker speedo only went to 50 and it gets buried too quickly.

 

Somebody needs to come up with a GPS speedo that fits in the standard CT70 opening

Is the odometer possibly reading kilometers instead of miles? If they're racking up on the meter faster than your pickin em up and puttin em down, maybe that's the reason. I've heard of US-issue Chinee scooters having mph markings for the needle but the odometers still read km/h.

 

Went for a nice ride from Redondo Beach to Venice Beach with HondaZRider and another buddy on a 1980 GT80. The speedo is accurate but the odometer is definately off.

Dang rain made for some interesting riding. My CT70 handled well though.

 

How fast does it say you go Mux?

 

I never pegged it. I have been saving that ride for later. I have to say i've been up around 50mph.
