What is the point of having amatuer classes if pros with AMA pro licenses can race in them? A week or so ago you posted that any rider with a pro license would not be allowed to race these classes and that was great. Now, it seems back to the old ways...

Please advise.

What's the point in making new classes when there is only one bike you can run in the class? Why not make the manufacturers conform to your rules instead of making new classes just for them to race in?
Yeah no kidding,, the mx110ss would easily fit into the stock mod class and is closer to a TTR and KLX than the CRF70,,, But the guys at mini moto ? now the "new" rule about holomogation pops up!!

Pitster successfully was able to get their 90cc 125cc and 150cc quads approved for REAL AMA racing in GNCC and MX, plus the MX110r in GNC and NMA racing with only detailed pictures and specs.

The mx110ss is not a threat to anyone on a KLX110, TTR110 or CRF70, there are also limited numbers of them, but instead of letting them race against the bikes it was built to compete with,, we get this ride against only pitster class!

I guess if I am only one of the few with the mx110ss ,, I could win a vegas championship!!!!

It is really not about if anyone racing against them will complain , or feel at a disadvantage, it is that a china manufacturer has built a bike that needs accepted in a Japanese industry, I think there is a lot more that is really going on?

I agree Matified. The only real advantage I could see the Pitster having over the 110's and 70's is the disc brakes.
In reality though,, how many times on a stock mod when you grab a handful of brakes do they not do their job?

The mx110ss is a honda style engine with the small stud pattern, how big of an engine could you get VS the near 200cc klx based engines ? talk about an advantage given towards the KLX.

Want to know something funny!! So many people that cry, buy a Honda, buy a Yamaha, buy a Kawasaki!! have been crying to mini moto that they are afraid of the China bikes!! in the stock mod classes,, some even sent emails full of misinformation , reading them you would think that the 88cc bikes had the handling and power of a 250f!!

and the 110 was a full on 450! I cannot believe some many , even aftermarket vendors are afraid of China bikes!!! Wow funny how things work out!!

wow that new class rule is retarded.

scared of a 107cc E-Start CHINA Bike ??? geezzzz

its crazy when ppl that show up in the stock mod class have 180cc stock heads with +r internals klx110s are shiting in there paints over a klx copy bike with ttr110 plastics and has a little 107 Estart motor .

i dunno about disk brakes being a advantage?? what ever i would rather have a drum that does the same thing every time i use it then a disk that locks up on the touch . distk brakes are nice but on these little bikes the power of the break is a waist.

pitster didnt build the bike to race them selves they built the bike to race agenst the Best KLX?DRZ , TTR , CRF's that can be built for the stock mod class.

sounds like total bs to me . so i guess all it comes down to being scared of a China bike.

your pretty much wasting everyones time , i dont wanna c the 5 guys that bought this bike race eachother, i would rather see them race the bikes they where built to race against

Bikes will only pass tech based on manufacturer supplying a bike as a reference prior to opening of tech. Practice & qualifying - time TBD

y cant pitster do that in the in the normal stock mod class????

so that also mean that kawi honda suzuki and yamaha should have bikes at the tech ? because i have seen klx stock mod bikes roll throught tech with aftermarket heads every year?

Look at it from MMSX's point of view:

CRF70 - Two whole variations on the market since launch back in 80 something.

KLX110 - Other than 'BNG' and an output shaft change, have there been any variations?

TTR110 - Again, unchanged since launch.

There are likely more of any of those examples sold in a year than the total MX110 SS sales to date. Identifying them is easy, nailing down the contents of a stock bike, again easy. They can get their hands on example machines easy cheesy either from dealers or likely direct from the MFG just by asking. The bikes have been out long enough, in big enough numbers that the performance characteristics/etc are already well known, there isn't any need to homolgize them now as a result. The tricks for hopping them up within various restrictions, again also well known.

The Pitster, how many variations in details are there crate to crate? Can Pitster provide a hard BOM with identifying info for a complete machine? How do you verify that the bike in tech is using the OEM cylinder and not one from some other import motor that looks similar externally but happens to allow boring out 1mm further? Those cases OEM or are they using a set that drives the oil pump directly off the crank instead of using a shaft across the cases, allowing for a bigger stroke crank?

They don't know, and have no experience with the machine so they're doing like most race orgs do - Start the class as a provisional class, if it proves compatible merge it in. If it's disruptive keep it separate. If it's a PITA to enforce drop it or raise the homoligzation requirements. They've got to have some sort of homoligzation requirements or some joker like me will spec up a sleeping giant, have two shipped over and claim it's a 'production import' too; MMSX gets one for inspection, I race one, and my 'web store' lists it as sold out for the year.

There's no agenda, they're trying to make sure they maintain good racing. If Suzuki suddenly jumps in with a KLX110 killer I fully expect the same to occur with it, first year it's a provisional class on it's own, after that if it meshes it races.

Why let riders sign up in expert and amature? Either your an expert, or your an amature. You should only be able to choose 1, just like the major sanctioning bodies state. Once you sign up for expert or A class 1 time you can't move back down.
