i have a stock 150r and it rips but im a beginner. Go with whatever you feel more comfortable on.

I was tghinking the 150r also because i'm not that big of a guy and a beginner on Big Bikes. i'm 5'7 and 175lbs. you think the 150r expert would be adequate for my size?



I was also thinking of getting a husky sm510 since thos eare street legal.

 

yea i think that a 150r expert would be a tad bit small but you could ride it just fine. It all depends on how long youve been riding. If you have more than 2 years exp i say go with the 250

 

the 250f is definitly the better choice, they're nothing to be scared of, very friendly bikes but they have a suprising amount of power when you get on it, but very controllable.

i am olny 5-6. quite a few of my friends are only 5-5 and 5-6. we all ride 250Fs

 

its up to you... im 6'2" and i fit just fine on my 150r and its the small wheel version. working at a husqy dealership i wouldnt recommend the 510... just too hard to get parts for.. i like my 150r because i can take it to the track when my friends ride their big bikes, and take it to mini races and etc. its the best of both worlds. just my 2 cents.

 

250f. i'm 5'6 and got when i was 14. now 15 and i came off a xr100.

 

250f im 15 and bout 5'6 5'7 and i love the 250 and i rode my little brothers 150 and i thought it was small.. but it just depends on what you want and what you like

No its not, your crazy, you must have seen a Small wheeled 150r. The BW 150r expert is bigger then the cr85 expert, i had um side buy side when i bought a 150r expert.

This is sort of my mentality as well. I'll be able to ride it on big bike tracks and still be able to take it to indoor motard events (150cc limit). I doubt i'll ever be seriously racing this thing so i'm not sure if i need a 250. i know the 150R is a race bike but i would only get it because of the performance difference over the F model. In the future I plan on getting a street legal motard like the Husky 610..



I'm just not sure if i should just go ahead and buy the SM610 or a dirtbike... hrmmmmm

Get a 250F dude. I was 5'6 when I got my first 125, plus youre way too heavy for a 150. Dont worry about being a beginner, the CRF250R has a really mild and forgiving motor, youll be glad you did it for sure.

I would choose the 250 over the 150 because you can do so much more with the 250..... desert etc.



Im way too tall for any bike smaller than a fullsize and even then i can sit down and put my feet flat on the ground.

 

i got the green light to get a new bike this fall. but cant decide. ive only ridden a modded 150f before. wondering how it would compare to a 250f in size weight and power and overall.

It really depends on what kind of riding you plan to do.



A 150R expert with some modifications is absolutely the most fun bike that I have ever owned. It is very capable, powerful, and light.



For me it's the 150R!

 

is there going to be a 150 class that isnt just for kids? i'm 27 =P
