I just replaced the rings and new cylinder gasket and put it all back together, and im not getting a spark out of the plug.
How do I test to see if the coil or coil wire is bad?
is maybe the timing off?

Bad timing shouldn't change spark. Double check all your connections. How do you know you're not getting spark? Did you pull the plug and try to start it and witness the plug not sparking or is the bike just not starting?

Gas is on, Kill switch is turned to Run, Neutral switch plugs are connected, Stator switch plug is connected, is the spark plug new?, and is the CDI Plugged in?

yes I pulled the plug and held it to the motor and no spark when kick start it.

all plugs are plugged in, but not a new plug,
also I noticed that the plug wire was broken where it goes into the spark plug boot, so i cut about a 1/4" off of it and screwed the boot back in but still no spark.

the reason for the new rings was that it was blowing white smoke and would idle fine but when I went to open up the throttle it just fell on its face.
could it just be th eplug is bad or maybe just the plug wire?

u can take the coil to auto zone or your closest dealership and theyll test it for you .. i had the same problem a few months ago but my neighbors an electrical engineer so he fixed it idk what he did but it worked

going to test the coil today.
could it be anything else that i might be overlooking?
I checked all electrical wires and plugs and blew them out, but no spark still.

Guys noone is stating the obvious! Everyone knows the neutral safety switch is a common part that peters out on you! And when bad the switch cuts spark to the motor, quick fix! You need to cut the light green wire on the safety switch and ground it to the motor or frame. I like to cut the wire on the switch side as to not ruin the factory harness in case i ever need it for something! Try it I will 99.9% guarantee you'll regain spark!
