Todd,

Don't forget the kit doesn't come with the crank, stator or o-ring seals.

You'll need to order those in advance before proceeding.

You forgot to tell me this.....

Can you reuse the old o rings?

You also have to tell him beforehand if your motor has a Hitachi flywheel which has a compass pattern on it ...yes ... North..East...South and West. Have to post a pic later.

I just ordered the crankshaft adaptor thimble from Thailand for my kickstart converted atc70 motor. It should allow me to put a modern stator/flywheel on the 70 motor. I'll keep you posted.

It should work just fine for you, I used the adaptor thimble with a Chinese IRK on an '84 ATC70 engine I have here. It all bolted up real nice, and spools up quite nice as well.

I got the crankshaft adaptor finally, worked out great. Hondaclassic31 sells it as the adaptor, woodruff key and 2 different nuts. It was $30 bucks shipped. I just used a stator and flywheel from a Lifan that I had kicking around.

Is your system still 6 volts?

No, the lifan stator is a 12v unit, I think DrATV sells a regulator to drop it to 6v if needed

Yes, tblumer got the crank adapter to run a 12 volt flywheel and the 12 volt lifan stator plate bolts up to the Honda cases. Anyone have a link to the adapter?

That's the one that I purchased, shipped from Vietnam. The guy that I corresponded with was really helpful, his name was Eric. I'm suprised that TBolt or FPM doesn't stock those.

Didn't you have to notch out a part of the left side engine case to provide clearance for the pulse pickup on the stator plate? The older (6V) engine cases needed to have some material removed (1st pic, circled in red) in order to allow the pulse pickup part of the stator to fit in place (2nd pic, circled in red).

CDI conversion possible?
