Are z50 wheels a direct fit on to the crf50? I'm thinking about parting out my big forks, swinger and shock, and making a stunt 50, and would like the solid wheels. Are they much wider? What problems could I encounter? Thanks.

it depends, my friend used a set of aftermarket z50 10" rims, they were like 3 or 3.5 inches wide and they fit, but the stock swingarm won't accept anything much bigger than a 3.5 tire

I run the Z rear wheel myself. I know you said street tires but just fyi the dirt tires for the Z are taller and wider than 10 inch crf50 tires

 

if you want to run 10" or even 12" up front fast50s sell billet wheels that are tough and look really trick

theres normaly some for sale in the classifieds

 

Yea and I think the Z50 wheel is a 8" wheel. Correct me if im wrong but I dont think the wheel is 10"

 

the z wheels are 8" and wider than a stock crf. I'm not sure about the back but i just put a 80's z wheel in some sp5's and had to grind down the brake plate and the little stop for the brakes for the front. So you will need either z forks or to figure something out for the front. The link to the xr thats not the roller has z front forks on it.

i would think it would be better for stunting because its a wider rim. so it would provide more width making ballancing easier. you just might have to mod some stuff to make it work with stock forks if you can. The tires for a z are usually not very agressive to begin with. so im not sure what tires you would want to run but i think you could get scooter tires maybe just try and google 8" tires or something possibly a vendor on here could get you some not sure tho

 

Could be wrong but I'm almost positive they dont work on stock CRF forks you need the old wider forks.

 

A rear wheel will fit in a stock swingarm but I am pretty sure the front is too wide for the crf50 forks unless mabye you mod the brake drum. You could also fit some or the later model z50 forks on your crf.

Here is mine now. I've been trying to sell it for monthes, and instead of getting ripped off, I'm thinking of returning it to stock form and stunting it. I'll have to get rid of alot of parts, but i have most of the stock stuff still. My plan was cheap one piece wheels, but now i dont know..

 

As stated, the Z50 wheel will not fit on the XR/CRF forks, but the Z50 forks are a direct bolt-on to the XR/CRF frame. The bike below has the Heidenau K75s, they work real well on the pavement.

 

I'm fitting a rear Z50 wheel on my CRF50 and have all parts ordered. Are you running the 4.00x8 or 3.50x8 Heidenau K75 tires? I'd like to run 4.00 but unsure if I can fit the tire on the stock CRF50 swingarm. Any help or info is appreciated!

Yes, that is an XR70 swingarm for clearance, I had the brake panel tab moved closer to the rear axle hole, to use the Z brake panel. And yes, it is my bike, its used mainly for parling lot brawling with a few friends.

Those are the newer style Z wheels, used from '80 to '99, they use the same brake panels as the XR/CRF50.

2nd Z50 thread on the front page.. I the other thread i put my zed wheeled stocker up. You need the wider old forks if you want a z50 wheel on the front. Rear drops straight in with the packing washers on the sprocket side.

With these 120/70-8 tires the front has about 2mm clearance at the fork boot..

My tires are Kitaco Duro tires I got them from webike japan $75each, i brought other items and got free freight to Australia

Forks im running are off a 1988 Z50R and ive dropped on a fast50s Z50 top bar kit clamp.

Gave this setup a good run last weekend, the tires are amazing.. so much nicer than a 3.0 roadie, I was scrapping the stock foot pegs on the ground wearing off the hairs off the tires
