well there not bringing in the ttr clone from andy any more and I have to agree the quality does look better. The bike medina has now is something else and you can built it for $1000.00 less then the pitster depending on what motor combo you go with.

Media copyed the bike in another factory, not sure its quality. DTX5 is sold very well in Europe and Australia now. You can check with all Europe main importer of DTX5.

Every once in awhile I feel the need to respond to what I consider the preverbial "bag of bull". So here goes...

Blackwoods - You bought our only YX TTR prototype frame kit for like $500 from Vegas-Chris. PLEASE buy a Utah bike if that is what you want... I am sure you will be very happy with it and their customer service.

I did not buy the YX TTR Linkage roller's because the frame was soooooo light duty. Also they tried to bully me to raise roller and 12' mini prices for all the US customers because some of the other US folk's were complaining about Medina prices... So Andy can pound salt. I think KARMA took care of YX... I will never sell a bike for a "triple digit" markups:thumbsdown:. ...but that is just my personal feeling about life.

However, don't Pimp the Utah folks and buy our old UNSATISFACTORY TTR Linkage bike frame kit for $500. Do you feel me bro? Nut-up and spend the entire $2495. or whatever they cost and enjoy a very nice bike.

The alternative... Is a $1095 TTR or $1049 KLX Linkage roller and $425 Zong-155 motor that is verrrrrrrrry close to the other TTR linkage / 155 experience. I do not care about ANY number #1 plate to pimp our rollers. I choose the local/regional racer and backyard basher all day long over the hard-core racer because there are soooo few of them to cater too. I believe I have VINCO's and Showa's and Brembo's for that extreme crowd.... Or call BBR!

We had an $799 Medina midsize clone make the LCQ in 12E this year with one of Dan's guys from the east coast. But to be completely clear here... I do not need top 10 results to support a $1400 12' mini with a 155 motor. A $2500 mini? Yes, top finishes would help substanciate the price difference in a very tough economy.

Those are my thoughts (not John's)... If you are able to respond I would like you to explain your rants to everyone else here. We are helping with low prices on part, motors, rollers, front-end kits and retro RML kits so PM-er's can keep riding with some very good Chinese equipment while money is so tight.

Good or bad that is how I see it. I even offered to support your lone B*STARD YX/DirtMax TTR bike for cost because it was the right thing to do... Good luck getting that backing from anyone else for a similair cost.

imho - bob

very well written , keep up the good work

Bob, it seems what you are talking is correct, but you do not know YX exactly. For the TTR frame you got is the first generation, just like the engine you used, all the products are keep on upgrading constantly in YX. Frame, swing arm, 2valves and 4 valves engine, are all upgraded now.

The fact is somebody from America ask for us to help him to make his bike registered since you can not supply them EPA number, i want to know do you have EPA for your bike? if you have no EPA and how they use their bikes?(even your bikes are cheaper).

I really do not know where you buying your bike, but do not say it is from us, do not let people think what you are selling from us and do not make us trouble.

what was exactly wrong with these rollers, I have recently purchased a Stomp Ace 160 from a UK dealer and it has the same linkage suspension as this bike, can you please explain? also does the linkage from your new TTR/KLX rollers fit as they look a lot better quality than the red linkage

cheers

"what was exactly wrong with these rollers"

Being as diplomatic as possible...

Our test riders liked the bike's handeling char. ...However, it was so light duty (via the linkage and rear frame). Had a decent shock and fork (via FastAce) and it turned in quite sharp:D. The linkage was just way to thin and unsupported via gussets and other methods of assuring long frame life. ......My other issue was with YX mngt. in telling me about raising mini prices to US customers / not offering any more rollers for $1000, etc, etc, etc...

I like this Bob guy! Very well stated! I have a Medina SX160 chassis I am buying 2nd hand for a motard build I'm doing and if thats his thoughts, I think I bought the right company's product. Besides their in Ohio too! Go Bucks!

Bob got to see the Medina linkage bike at the Rock Ride the bike looked good and handled well the quality seemed at least as good as Pitsters if not better for a lot less money. The engines in both need help but thats my opinion

John

I got my new TTR up and running for Rock N Ride this past saturday. This was my first ride on the bike and I was really impressed. My Bone stock TTR went 1-2 against a very mod BBR-110. I will have a full test on the bike up this weekend and I'm working on a video. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

cheers for the reply, they have just come into the country here in the UK (September)as i have being waiting since July for it, i wonder if they have made any revisions to the frame/linkage as you say you suggested to them in Febuary after you tested it. What revisions did you want them to make? Just want to make sure that Ive made the right decision, these are probably the next best thing in the UK apart from the LXR but i didnt like the look of them.

cheers

Thank you John !

We are considering the CRF style for Gen. #4... And we will have assembled bikes (minus motors) then as well.

imho...

I would suggest just buying the RML (retro-midsize-linkage) kit for $449. Please do not spend $1049 for the KLX Linkage Roller if you have a good midsize bike already.

SAVE YOUR MONEY :chairshot:

It comes with the SAME KLX Linkage roller frame set... Just not the other parts.

See our Gen. #3 thread in the vendor area for pics, etc...

The RML kit comes with;

  • frame
  • sub-frame,
  • shock
  • swing-arm
  • chain-guard
  • ignition coil
  • footpegs
My mistake for NOT ordering the bearings and races in them stock, but I was thinking folks could use their existing races and bearings instead. Most still can, but some generations of bikes use different sizes, etc... I am ordering retro kits for this now for CHEAP...

In conclusion; Keep as much of your hard earned money as possible and ride when you can...

There are some reviews in the Import Midsize section and you can PM folks that are riding them for accurate feedback, etc...

a 12" linkage solution you can really afford...
