My 87 ysr ex-racer, cant afford to race it, so might as well toss out the 50cc 2-stroke and bolt in an xr80, its currently rideable, but working out some kinks.

(it looks ugly i know) but i got a nice bodykit for it that i dont want to trash.

working on adding a few more things, i'll keep yall updated.

the pipe is just what i could make by hacking up the stock xr80 header and crapply welding it together, and adding a silencer off my old ysr race pipe. i'm gonna see if i can secure it a little better but for now it works. I would love to get one made for it one day thats properly done.

and for the looks, here is what is what it looks like with the kit on it.

and with the 50 motor and pipe it would top out at 70(while still running a massive 48t on the rear), stockers hit 45, but this pipe was imported from japan, and are worth a ton and are hard to find, unfortunately, mine got crunched up like a soda can after the rear shock snapped in half during a turn.

here are some stunt pics, i'm not too good, but here they are

these were all with the stock motor, i'm hoping the xr80's low end power will help me out a little bit, as trying to keep a wheelie up while staying on the pipe was not easy.

alright, tonight i redid the pipe, made it a little more stable, and where its more protected under the frame, either side the bike goes down on, the pipe should be fine.

also rigged up a rear hand brake, and i can still use the foot brake, i havent ridden it yet, but tomorrow i'll put the bike though its paces, just gotta put the sliders and seat back on it.

i'll get some better pictures tomorrow out in the daylight.

Looks like it would be fun to ride, I'd like to see a vid of it in action with the 80 motor in it. The dirtbike bars shouldn't be too hard to make work.

here is a youtube video of it up and running, but its torn back down right now to work out some other problems i'm having. sadly, no stunt pictures or video yet.

no, it would be pretty easy, but would require me to either chop up the stock clip ons, or buy an $80 aftermarket allum top clap. (the stock top clamp does not actually clamp to the forks at all) I have everything to do it right now, but i'm just afraid of hacking up the stock clip ons.

alright, uhm, i ordered a 12t front sprocket, going from a 16/48 to a 12/48 -4 in the front translates to about a 16/55 ish(i think), so anyway, it will give alot better lower grunt ( i really want to be able to bring the front up with out clutching it, i'm not sure if thats possible or not) but according to some sprocket calcs, it will be topping out at a whopping 25-30mph.

also working on trading a stock ysr part for a SS brake line

and i may just jack the risers and steal a bar from a mountain bike, its much flatter than the dirtbike bars i have now, I may just try that out and see how it goes.

yeah, carb will be in monday, so hopefully i can finally get this thing up and stunting, its killing me to sit and look at it and not beable to ride it.

and the best part is with the motor swap, if i ever find an xr100 motor cheap, its a direct bolt in with the mounts i already made, just pull out 2 bolts, swap it in, swap a sprocket and ready to roll out.

fkn sick mannnnn. ive allways wanted to do that with a nsf100, but i cant find a used one.

you should build a cage and sub cage with a peg, and a 12 bar, i think the dirt bars will give u better control.

i wanna sell a fiddy and build one

nice bike

yeah, i'm working on getting some metal tubing to build a cage, and i dont think i'm gonna do a 12 bar, and i've already got the dirtbike bars set up. I may weld in a subcage, but i dont think i'm gonna have any problem with it bending, and i have some rear axle pegs i havnt put on it yet.

but you should probably keep your 50, parts are hard to come by and expsensive for a 22 year old bike, and nsf's still cost about 3grand.

im seriously tryin to find a ysr or nsr. ima go to the honda dealership and see whats the lowest they will go on a nsf. i want a mini gp stunt bike soo bad

probably 6 grand.

imo, these bikes shouldnt be stunted, i'm only doing it because i cant afford to race it, and cant find anyone who will buy it off me.

You can roll out on a xr50 off the show room and play on it, stock ysr cant do, need sprockets, fork springs, and a bunch of other things needed to do. and NSF's are way to rare and usefull to throw around as a suntbike. and most dirtbikes will hold up way better than the mini racers.
