How's it goin everybody? So, I have a 2002 xr50 with a tb88 big bore and a 20mm carb. I recently put new piston rings and accompanying gaskets on it. Now, when I start the bike the throttle is wide open. Should I check the throttle cable and make sure it's releasing? Could an intake leak cause this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, is the throttle snapping back when you twist it all the way?

I'm pretty new to this site and haven't posted much because I don't usually have anything to add but this happened to a buddy of mine pretty recently after a carb clean. Check to make sure the slide is assembled in the correct orientation. If it's off by 180 degrees you'll still be able to screw the carb cap on but one of the guide pins will hold the slide all the way open.
