Hello Folks!

Ive read a lot threads and now my final question is which engine/brand do you guys prefer when it comes to chinese minis?

I mean there are lot of different ones like , Loncin,Lifan,Zongshen and so on... but which one is the best suited for a minis?

I'd search the Archives.

Any of the vendors supporting the forum (who sell the motors) can give you their opinion on what is best based upon their personal experience and the product line they sell. Each will be different.

· Rotten Inc

· TBolt USA

· Trail Bikes

· Vinco Racing

· RC Motors

· AHP Minis

· Vicious50

· Brand X Minis

I'd call each one and purchase from the company who you are the most comfortable with.

*Note to vendors - This isn't open season to be sending PM's to this guy asking an honest question. Let him come to you for information.

What do you plan on using the motor for and we can point you in the right direction. Racing...backyard riding....street riding....motocross.....ramp jumping?

z88R: Im not from US so I do not want to call all of the sellers , I just wanted the people opinion of this forum.

Chrome-CRF: This bike will be used for racing in the dust, jumps and street riding, a bit of everything I would say.

Tell me where you are located, and I'll set you up with a list of International dealers who can set you up.

Sorry but Im not interested to call dealers to find out which China manufacture of engine is suited for a minis. Its not even expand in my country , so its pretty pointless do there is no real dealers here for china bikes.

I here to ask owners of this forum which one they prefer, thats it.

Im sorry if I was unclear in my first post

But I was told that USA was many years ahead of europe countryes when it comes to Minis especially from China , thats why I ased this question on this forum.

The problem is, there isn't a good answer. Each person giving you an opinion is going to be based on a couple of factors:

1. Personal Experience with their specific bike or motor

2. Connections they have with a shop selling a specific motor

Take your pick on the motors, but I'd stick with one that is 120-124cc's with a 4 or 5 plate clutch mounted on the primaries, with a 78.5 mm cylinder height. Lifan, Zongshen, GPX, etc. all make a similar motor based off the Honda Nice 110. Since they are all so new to the market, there is nobody with long-term experience with these motors to tell you that they have been holding up for 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, etc. They all make similar power numbers in stock form. All will need additional parts when adding Big Bore Kits, stroker cranks, etc.

Additionally, the market is changing so fast that what you perceive to be a good motor may already be outdated with a new shipment of bikes/motors that is coming in to the country as we speak.

Make sure you can get replacement parts, find a vendor who you are comfortable with, discuss the warranty, and make your purchase if said vendor will ship overseas unless you are just digging for information and plan on importing in your own stuff from China direct.

If you want longer term information, you are posting on message boards in the wrong country. You need to focus on Europe who have 1 year's more experience in this area.

I see , I was told American was 1 year ahead of Europe when it comes to China bikes. But what forum do we have here in Europe?

Let say 120/125cc , what do you guys prefer , 2 or 3 valves? Which engine does hold up more and more for tuning?
i think the ahp motors are the best by far, i love my stage 1 but all the ahp different stages are awesome.

Hmm never heard of AHP , is it realy chinees manufactured engine?

Any website to check how it look and what cc it has ?
100-107 cc they have many options to chose from i love my stage 2

Stick with a 2 valve for sure. i dont think that the chinese have perfected the three valve head. It works good now...but who knows how long it will last. Then you need a three lobe camshaft?? The head bolts up to a cylinder different. The GPX 125cc motor is pretty damn good. I have ridden a GPX 125, Sikk 120, and my BXM 107. Order of speed/quality is as follows....

GPX 125

BXM 107

Sikk 120

The Sikk clutch isn't mounted on the primary, so you cant pull the clutch in in gear and kick the motor over...the kickstarter just goes limp. The shifting is shotty. Wont go into neutral. If it had a better clutch/tranny it would be fine...but that stuff holds it back.

The BXM doesn't have much in the way of low end torque for being a stroker motor. My 88cc honda with a 70 head felt torquier...even after gearing it up. Once you get it going it screams though. I have video of it stomping on a honda 88 with a manual clutch. It also beat that Sikk 120^. The clutch works awesome. Hardly ever misses a shift. Thats probably rider error and not the tranny. Keep it "on the pipe" and its a fast motor. The 3 valve head kinda ruins any aftermarket goodies...although i believe somebody makes a cam? Not much of a selection though.

The GPX 125 is an all around good motor. Good torque, phenomenal midrange, not much top end power. It can be lugged....you can make it scream. The clutch is great (same as the BXM i believe). Enough grunt to do power wheelies right out of the crate. The aluminum cylinder looks awesome with the vertical fins.

Like Dan said.... none of these motors have been around for a long time. Its hard to say whats gonna last, but if you live in the now...you can take my advice^^^.

Neo,

You guys have importers in Sweden so I don't know why you are being so secretive on where you come from. It does sound like you want to become an importer and want everyone do to your homework for you!

Nobody is going to give you the chinese links on where to purchase the motors for a couple of good reasons.

1. Most people don't know

or

2. The people who do know are already selling the motors, and aren't going to give up their sources.

However, I'd start with these two companies and see where you get:

www.hk-new-era.com

or

www.skyteam.cn

Or you can do a search on google for Lifan or Zongshen.

There are many more, but you are going to have to do your own research to find them.

Good luck!

And sorry we do not have dealers here with experience do to this is the first year of this kind of bikes from china.

And second those links you gave me are links to brokers , I was looking for the engine manufacture.

Btw I do not understand why keep such a things secret as you said 8O

Sorry to ask but it sounds that I stepped on a wrong foot by asking you guys here

Vince over at TBolt USA sells the GPX 125. Tell him you are a PM memeber. I'm not positive if he does international shipping, but its worth a shot.

thorwarrior: Thanx for the help but the bike will be manufactured in China so thats why I want a chinese manufacture so my source can purchase it for me directly.
