I putting the tall bar kit on my TTR50 tonight. I got it all apart and when I started putting the throttle cable together I noticed that the black gasket seal inside the cap tore when I took it apart.

I wonder if I can run it without it or if I should try to find a replacement.

I guess I will have to order several of those gaskets. This sucks. I know the dealer won't have one in stock and probably won't be able to get it until next week.

you should try and replace it. If you get a air leak in thier it could mess with your jetting. You can try running with out it until you find a replacement.

Is it a rubber gasket or what. If you dont want to spend however much it is for a new one, go down to the hardware store and buy a gasket making kit, or some gasket material. Then all you need is a blade and you can make however many as you need.

It's rubber. I ordered two of them so I could use one now and then take the second one to the hardware store to see if I could find something similar to use in the future.

Yeah. It's a thin rubber seal that tore when I took the throttle cable off to install my tall bar kit. It helps to keep the cap sealed so you don't suck air through the top of the carb. I ordered two new ones but they have not come in yet.
