well the lil woman finally jumped my chit enough to start working on her quad. so i figured i would share pics of the build so far. little background started life as a 1994 trx 90. picked up a KOQ racing front end with elkas the rear end a certain vender was suppose to get me specs and pricing but never did. so as of now the rear end just gets a works shock but the wheel are turning about maybe turning it into a linkage rear. motor for now is a 54mm bore, with my old ported tak R head lifan O.R. i have it choked down w/ light bore pc pipe and chinker carb just waiting for the women to ask for more power cause i have a dohc just screaming to be placed on is w/ a 56 stroke x 57 bore. just picked up the new style plastic which i was told was bolt on deal if you got the tank seat and brackets. yeah.....not so much so in the process of fabbing it up to accept the new style plastic.

I want one now! I used to have a chinese 150, beat the crap out of it, and looked similar to yours, but yours is probably worth 10 times more than my chinese one, keep us posted if theres more to come!

lol i never thought about doing a pit quad and the lil lady just couldnt do the two wheel thing so i picked this up and as its progressing i'm now wishing i did one to cause i'm a x quad racer. there will be more to come i still have more brackets to make and weld to finish up the rear fenders then had to do a lil work for the tank. after i'm done with that i have to make the decision if i want to make my own rear end for it, buy a aftermarket, or leave it stock cause its going to p/c for a nice bright neon green. after that try and wait patiently til she is ready to put some hp to it so i can put the dohc on it :) the yx 4 valve i did last year was intended for quad but turned out to make more than what she could use.

With your skills, buy the swing arm parts from eastcoastatv and build your own! Looks great, I'll be starting one very soon for a buddies kid. His front end will be atv four play with fox floats. I remember seeing the KOQ trailer at the nats, with some really nice quads on display.

Your in PA call Shawn @ K and K atv, he should have what you need.

never thought about calling k and k, i'll have to give him a call. im not real impressed with the koq kit. in order to come remotely close to get neutral camber i had like maybe 3 threads holding the ball joint. i called asking if this is normal and i was told yea they where designed for 13 eye to eye shocks but everyone wanted 14 so he started using 14 inch instead. well i was not happy with that so i welded extensions on the uppers to give me some thread room. then to find out that with the 14 eye to eye shocks it starts to bind the ball joints from over extended so when i'm done it will be going to sent of set the front shocks back to 13. has anyone ever done a linkage on the 90? i seen some guys use the 350x swingarms on them.

You just keep going and going, on this trick fab work. Well done, Sir:)

Ever get rid of the ugly 2-3 trans gap on one? Got a pair of TRX's here that need close-ratio'ed.

Yea I enjoy fab work always a joy to sit back when ur done and admire ur work :). The bottom has not been touched what close ratio trans do you use?

I've never seen a linkage set up on a 90. The rear end I'll be setting up is gull wing no link. It would be really trick if you could use the 450r linkage. How long of swinger you gonna use?

Haven't really looked to much into doing a mod rear end yet. She gave me a dead line to have it done by and I have a feeling if I tear into to start on a linkage setup ill have everything to finish my mutant motor and ill push it aside til a wrap up everything on my conversion. I might opt just for doing my own plus 2 non link.

Look up Tom at atv 4 play. He builds some killer stuff and much much nicer then the koq setup. Also you could hook up with hetrick racing that's in oil city pa about their advise on a rear suspension setup.

Hetricks and I are not so cohesive. I will check out atv 4 play a few guys have recommended them and said there stuff is pretty good

got a lil more done tonight. if anyone ever tells you that the new style plastic is a direct bolt on if you buy all the fender braces tell them their a$$ sucks buttermilk and kick them in the nuts cause the rear fenders need alot of work to fit right.
