I have this theory about vehicles (any vehicle) and color. There are too many black ones.
I think that the smaller amount of painted sheet metal, plastic, or other body parts, the brighter the color you can get away with.
Cars for example: A Tangerine Orange Ford Crown Victoria would be beyond gay. However, a Tangerine Orange Mini Cooper would be cool. On the other hand, a black Crown Vic' is sinister-cool. A black Mini is just a smudge in the parking lot.
Bikes too: A Chartreuse Honda Gold-Wing would suck balls. However, a Chartreuse Honda Chaly would be priceless. On the other hand a black Gold-Wing is still identifiable as a Gold-Wing. A black Chaly looks like, well, just another scooter.
You see what I mean?
Most small vehicles that are black all look the same from 100 feet away, but if they are colored anything other than black, you can see the "lines" and shape of the vehicle. This is especially true of motorcycles. So why are 95% of all Harleys black? Harley has at least 10 different models but I cant tell them apart at a glance. And what's up with all the freakin' black clothing?.......but I digress...
So if you are building a special mini, one that you want people to notice and admire, one that will stand out at a bike show, then stay away from too much black. Black just does not work well on small vehicles.
