Right im looking in to getting a new clutch but thought id check with the

guys that really know there shit, (thats you lot lol).

we are talking super clutch kits

so whats the pros and cons of both or are they the same apart from the looks?

i already have the takegawa close ratio gears in my crf are they the same as in the clutch kit?

if so ill leave them in there and give the gears out of the kit to my mate!

once again thanks

I have two takegawa clutches and have had no problem what so ever. dont quote me on this but i think the kitaco uses the same gear ratios as stock

now i know for sure the takegawa changes them so shifting from 1st to 2nd isnt so drastic.

My buddy is Derek Costella's michanic he has used both and prefers the takegawa, even though he uses his own gear combos

sorry... yes the gears will be the same from both takegawa kits

26red, the kitaco makes 1st gear taller so the transition from 1st to 2nd is easier just like the takewaga. Now the kitaco uses the stock 3rd gear, the takewaga makes 3rd gear lower (closer to 2nd). If you have a smaller motor i think the takewaga would be nice becuase it wont be bogged down when shifting from 2nd to 3rd, but with a big motor that can pull the taller 3rd you might have a little advantage.

I think the takewaga has a 5 plate clutch? and the kitaco has a 4 plate clutch. I think the plates are bigger in the kitaco though.

Im running a 124SE, i spent a lot of time researching both the kitaco and takewaga and couldnt really find any major differences that would make one totally better then the other. I went with the kitaco becuase it looked cooler imo and just to keep my motor all kitaco. I dunno why but i think its cool to have a motor that has all of one companies parts on it.

i knew something was different. I also have the 124se and that makes sense cause i wish i had a fourth gear when i ride on the big bike track. for the same reason you stated getting the kitaco(keeping all parts the same brand) kinda wish i did the same. but i have had no problems so oh well. as far as looks go your right the kitaco looks better, but takegawa came out with new covers that look much better, but they want $400 for them so untill i break mine... its the ugly side cover for me:)

Yea i got mine before the new takewaga side cover, i still find the kitaco a little better looking. I like the new takewaga how it has the thermostat for the oil cooler though.

Bear in mind you'll be changing your primary shaft when you install one of these clutches, even if you go with a Take with the same gearing.

I've got a Tak, could have gotten a Kitaco for the same price, I just decided to go with what Mark at AHP had in hand and had experience with incase I had to ask questions. : )
