No run normal oil. Synthetic tends to make the auto clutch slip.

 

Gotcha, any suggestions?

 

I ran Honda genuine 10w40 GN4 with stock auto clutch and now with AMSOIL 10w40 syn with Takegawa special clutch.

 

Rotella t6 is synthetic and I'm going to switch over to it.
The white is Dino, the blue is full synthetic and both are jaso ma certified.
The grey bottle semi synthetic isn't.

 

gn4 in the honda big bikes, bel ray in the pit bike. can also use shell rotella that the diesels use

 

I've run synthetic in ALL of my bikes (both sides on big bikes) for years, and never had the first problem with clutches slipping. The only issue I did run into is Redline synthetic oil eating Chinese clutch rubbers. Went through 3 daytona baskets in 3 days/rides each.

 

I say no, had problems with my clutch slipping.

 

Rotella is 15-40 though can those bikes handle it? I have heard bel ray, and AMsoil is good may go with one of them

 

I was thinking about running royal purple in mine to begin with, anyone use it?

 

I run royal purple in my jeep I would NEVER use it in a 50 I personally just stick with honda gn-4 from my 1974 xr75 to my 2006 honda crf

 

Yes it can take 15/40. People run 20/50 in small engines

I run Amsoil A - because its on my dads shelf at cost for me ...B- because the type I run it is specifically designed for wet clutch motorcycle engines.....never had a problem yet & our china bikes take a beating on the regular.... when I check it and it looks like crap I change it (need to get hr meters)

from what I have gathered (from 3 different oil reps n a bunch of reading and watching the amsoil bashing lol ) Its more about picking the right type...(not brand) and not contaminating it with any other ....ie pick one and stick with it - just make sure it is designed specific for a wet clutch 4 stroke ..and change it when needed

 

+1 on Amsoil syn motorcycle 10w40, I run it in my fifty and in my 12 yz125 bottom end.

 

AMSOIL 10W-40 Advanced Synthetic Motorcycle Oil .....it smells good too!

 

If you do regular oil changes, you can run Discount Bob's Honest Organic Weasel Squeezings and you won't have any issues.
