Agreed!!! Where there's a will, there's a way.... but it comes with a HEFTY price tag.

You can say the bikes totaled. And get a reconstructed title then it can be legalized for the street.

it a bike that was initially sold in japan and imported to the states. they have a different VIN # which is what makes most of them hard to register in the states. theres a few post that you can search for

 

my 2004 is fully street legal bought it like that from my local dealer.it took them a while but they got all the street kit from baha desijns.the got it ispected the i u=insured it.i also live in canada ,bc .just got back from a insane back road ripp.

 

what if u go to the dmv saying its a custom built bike like those choppers u see on tv

Mine is a street legal 2004 NSR50 from Naults Honda in New Hampshire you guys that dont know what your talking about have got to stop posting unless you are sure what your saying is factual! Repsolnsr has a 99 JDM street legal NSR50 along with quite a few others in various states (We are both in new york)

 

Also consider, depending on the state, you might see increased insurance rates. I sure the hell did in CA but still well worth it. About 2.5 times a ZB or CT but very few insurance co's. will touch it.

When i called GEICO they practically hung up on me when they figured out what an NSR50 was lol.

The first bill they sent me was for $950 a year

Then I called them and they had it rated under the larger NSR's, as a high performance street bike. I then basically convinced them that it was a 49cc scooter and then gave them a run-around answer why it has a short vin #.

So after my phone call and after the agent guy did some research, they lowered it to only $230 a year

Lets hope they don't figure out its not a scooter....

I just told him it came from Japan...I just bought it this way...it has a street legal title...its a Japanese scooter...I have no idea why its shorter, and thats what it says on the title and bike...ect.



I do have the feeling that I kind of just got lucky with it.
