hey guys which one would you buy and why

ive ridin both and the shivers feel much more smooth to me and have a more progressive spring rate to handle the little bumps as well as hold up over the big hits.

they are BOTH good forks...the best of the best....but in my book, the shivers take the lead by a hair.

When I got my forks I talked to Sik 50s they told me they were very close in performance but the stratos had much better braking . They also said Marzocchi comes with the front wheel , making it a better deal .

yea i was gonna mention about the brake....the shivers r 160mm rotor and the sr6's r 190mm rotor.....i honestly think that for a bike with 88 kit there is NO need for all that power.....i almost flew over the bars when i set my finger on the lever.....i didnt like it one bit. where as the shivers have a little less power to stop and have much more controll over the brake. i would definitly want the 190mm rotor for anything 106 or above.

and yes sr6's come with wheel too. the sr6's are a lil bit more pricey.

shivers for sure. they are mostly pretty close in all aspects, besides stratos having stronger brakes. But the Shivers are a better deal price wise, u can find them for $1350 but cant find Stratos with wheel for anywhere near that price. Plus the shivers look SICK

Stratos. 6'' travel vs 5'' travel. I like the clamps on the stratos much better. And the break line on the shivers hangs down really low, where it connects to the caliper, looks like it'd hang up on the ruts and get torn right out, if you ride on a rocky/rutty track, i wouldnt suggest these.

actually your talkin about the sr6's. nice try. ;)

look on the lowest part of your forks.....what hangs down the lowest?? could that be the bleeder screw? 8O

i think that a bleeder screw would be move of a concern than a cable that is meant to bend. ive been sayin this alot tonight so ill keep it going......put the pipe down son.

Between Pimpin and workin the office job , how do you still have time to be a plumber too ? ..... the SR6s feel more stout , plushness is all about setup , oil weight and amount can make the same forks feel very different . So you cant really judge a fork riding them just once .... and the brakes work alot better on the SR6s. Since when have any of you had too much front break power in the dirt? no such thing for me .... 50s are enough work to ride as it is , you dont need to waste energy pullin on your brake lever ....

you can put a few different clamps on the shivers. I have seen a FiveO clamp mounted and another set, but couldn't tell what brand, but I know they were not the ones that comes with them. Who cares about the brakes? It's not enough to make a difference, they'll stop you either way, I just want to change mine to look cooler. And yes, the Shivers are nicer to look at.

its a tough life but i get 'er done. and ive ridden the sr6's a few different times on a few different bike...not just yours jimmy. ;)

and yes the two can both be built to work to your likings.....picture them on your bike and go with what you think looks best...performance is so damn close it doesnt matter really. i have to agree with donkey about both brakes will get you stopped. only thing with mine is that the brake as sqeaked since day one. i dont know why...maybe my rotor is defective......iono but that shit pisses me off.

your rotor on the right way matt?

well i have the same brakes as the sr6's on my bike and they are truly top of the line, even when wet and muddy they still grip better than my stock drum.

there forks are uncomparable, and not because there so different, because there so similar.

i think the shivers might have a better coating on the lower sanctions(sp??) but still good. the only leaky sr6's ive heard of are local, but its only because he refuses to clean his bike. mose specificly he dries the seals out with dirt and doesnt bother to keep it clean.(pisses me off seeing 1500 forks abused)

these forks are both fully programmable, not exactly a god thing for newbies. sr6s have dual spring stacks, lots of oil tunability, compression and dampening ajusters.

its preference, both forks are sick, but i choose sr6 because i know they handle INsanely good.
