Male threading needs to be 8mm (8M) x 1.25 (threading) and AN fitting needs to be -4.

8M x 1.25 to -4AN

Earls only has an 8M x 1.0 or 1.5

Russel use to make them but they don't have them anymore.

The thread in the lifan 150 clutch side cover is m10x1.25. Same size as nissin brakes uses for banjo bolts. (brembo brakes uses m10x1.0)





Metric 8mm thread is m8x1,25.

Metric fine is m8x1.0



m8x1.5 does not exist as far as I know.

Looks like you can buy a 8Mx1.5 here (could be a misprint though):

As for the 8Mx1.25 I am trying to source. these are the bolt holes that I was wanting to add the fitting to. This would allow me to run one braided line out to the oil cooler and one return. Someone else on another subject mentioned a take-off plate? What is one and will this help me here?

Take-off plates are used to connect an oil cooler to a honda type head. Does not work on a kawa type head like you have.



m8x1.25 is just called m8.

Correct, they are only making m8 fine (m8x1.0)



What you could do is buy an m12x1.5 -4AN connector. Turn the m12x1.5 thread down to 8mm and cut m8 on that part. Careful with tightening the connector, that only leaves (6.4 - 4) /2 = 1.2 mm of material thickness, probably the reason why they do not make that version in the first place.



(6.4mm is m8 core diameter)

Wow.....good idea but beyond my skill level. So why would GPX make that threading for those lines? Maybe they were intended for the banjo bolts that they came with instead of using fittings?

It looks as though there is more than enough meat in that area for you to tap the holes out to use a more readily available 10mm x 4AN fitting(?)

This was what a guy at a race parts store suggested, however, won't I end up putting a bunch of filings into the engine? I would like to avoid taking the engine apart.....

You could tip the engine forward some, and use some wheel bearing grease on the tap, the cuttings will stick to the grease.

retapping would be ideal as helicoils are meant to be temporary, though I have heard of helicoils lasting several years.

To retap it, I would need to drill it out first with the appropriate size bit, correct?

Yes, and the same goes for using grease on the drill bit to help catch the cuttings.

I'd suggest having a rare earth magnet near by too as it should help catch some of the loose cuttings, that the grease doesn't.
