I posted in the intro section, but no one responded. I was looking to get a ruckus, but they are so expensive that I'd rather get a little project mini, but I want to make sure it is street legal. Was wondering which bikes I should be looking to get? Want something more then 50cc's for sure. I went to a TR meet and saw someone roll up on their yamaha street bike....and i fell in love. looking to get something similar. thanks for the info in advance.

Found a 1977 Honda MR Elsinore for sale for $750..worth it? I use to own an elite 80, but recently sold it..looking for something with the same CC's but a mini instead..thanks. here's a pic of the ct..

Welcome to pm Dj Hunny. I just wrote a whole paragrah about the CT70 before you edited your post, lol.

Anyways, are you looking for any mini that's street legal (knockoff) or does it have to be a honda?

I'm sorry, i changed it because the CT70 i saw, was actually a ST70..not sure of the diff...and it doesn't have to be honda..just anything street legal with plenty of an aftermarket parts. Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki/Kawa...i want something similar looking to that..i'm going to try to find a pic of the yamaha that came out to the totalruckus meet that i saw..totally loved it! Oh, and i dont want to spend too much on it either..which im sure goes for everyone.

So anything street legal with a 49cc engine? Btw, were you at the HAT last night?

Yep, i was at the hat last night. were you? i was on the blue ninja 250..came with my girl. we went to eat and then decided to head home since i have work today and couldn't be out too late. i want something more then a 49cc engine...something that can keep up on the streets..closer to 80-100+cc

Awww man, the only reason i came to the meet last night was to see those bikes because i read in TR that some of you guys were coming! I must've been inside eating already cuz when i came out everyone was already gassing up....

But yes, i am looking for seomthing just like that and street legal!!! So sexy!!!! so so sexy!!!!

oh and budget...i want to spend under 1k that's just for the bike..not including all the mods i'd want to do..the less i spend on the bike the more i can spend on mods..

The least expensive and least troublesome way to get a street legal monkey bike here in the states I believe is to buy a knockoff and swap out the parts. You can pick up a used one for around $400-$800, and a new 125cc for around $200-$400.

Here's some threads I pulled up for you...

OH ow, thanks so much! i looked through each one. you said you have a crf50 that's street legal, that's the type of bike i want. how do you go about making it street legal? and did you mod yours to make it more then 49cc? i've read about a lot of ppl converting it to a 88cc kit. Sorry for all the questions, i'm not sure if i even posted in the right section, but i figured you guys would know more about street legal mini dirt bikes so yeah.

These are harder to come by and are expensive because... it's a honda and by law you cannot do this anymore since the laws changed in 2004; however, that dosen't mean it's impossible. I bought mine plated off of CL and paid a lot more than I wanted to. And, you're right, if you want to ride these guys on the street, an 88cc is highly recommended. ;) If you do find one for sale they normally go for $2000-$3000.

If you want one of the bike similar to the Monkey, I have a lead on two of them locally. They're $750-$800.

Mine is called a Gorilla because of the diff tank and seat which is interchangeable with the Monkeys, Pandas, Funriders. Mine was a Panda from the factory.

Keep in mind, you can buy a Chinese engine for these (and the CRF50s) which are 125cc for about $250 and it'll do 50+ out of the box with stock exhaust.

Yes, CRF50s are much more expensive. I know of one for sale for $2400. I know of more expensive ones too.

really? i am interested..and have cash in hand..thx a lot guys.

and also eddie, i get it..so the crf50 were street legal until 2004 when the law changed and you can no longer make them street legal? correct. thanks so much for the info...

i will be looking for a honda monkey then or something similar. and if i can upgrade the engine to run faster then 50cc...then that's what i want.

the jincheng panda is a replica of the honda monkey and a lot of the parts made for the monkey will bolt up to the panda. the one i listed could be a little cheaper but i'd pay the asking price to get into the game.

check this site out ƒoƒCƒN—p•iEƒoƒCƒNƒp[ƒc’ʔ̂ÌGT¤‰ï it'll give you and idea of what's out there.

thanks. now if only i get it in english? lol, i clicked around just to look..
