Hey guys, I have a Lifan 107cc 3 valve engine. After doing some research I've read there's a few problems with breaking counter shafts from kick starting and difficulty in shifting. The engine is still brand new, how do I identify if it's the 05 or older engine with the described problems? And, does anyone know or have the parts I need to fix it before I fire it up (improved shift star, and apparently new counter shaft with bearings and one side of a case is needed??) (could I just use a Lifan 125cc engine for the parts I need?)? Lastly, I have a Mikuni 24mm carb, will that work for it? Is that too much carb? Where can I find jets, I'm guessing it will need jetting? It's completely stock, but I ported the heads a little bit and have a big bore exhaust for it. So does anyone have the parts I need?

THANKS!

~Mike..........

I have the 107 and I got my hi-comp piston from Mark at AHP...he just uses a 2 valve piston and fly cuts it so it will clear the 3 v...so really you could get one from anybody that sells the correct size piston and can be able to fly cut it for you....I had Dan Crower of Crower Power grind up me a cam...he just used my stocker and re-ground it....if your engine is a pre '05 you will need that update stuff that 1/4 chub has........it will fix alot of the issues the little engine has...awhile back Fasterminis was selling T3 engine dress up parts in the clearance section...ya may look there....funny, their clearance prices were less than their so called hot count-down price

I may have to hit u up on some of this if the OP is not interested.....and he should be interested cuz this stuff is getting hard to find...but then again, not too many people are left that rock the 3v 107

Hey doopsx3,

I can't seem to find the clearance section or find T3 in the forum vendors. The damn search feature on this site needs 4 or more charactors to search with, I even googled it and can't seem to find this company or any info or pictures of the 3v dress up kits. Got a link or any info would help. I even looked in your profile for #64 bike I saw u posted in another thread saying you had a dress up kit but I don't see it :(

You guys think my Mikuni 24mm will work after the head porting and G2 cam? It's a pretty big carb for 107cc.

yeah that is kind of a fat carb but if you have it the head ported, intake matched, big bore exhaust, hi-comp slug, and an aggressive cam the 24mm will work but may (probably) bog in your lower rpms....jet the pilot a little lean and you should not have any issues....

it is the #65 bike and yes it is hard to see

the oil runs though the head passing the huge heat sink which in turn cools the oil...viola....:)

surely you could just drill and tap the head plate to accommodate some 8mm banjo fittings. oil coolers are a selling gimick and in most parts are not needed.

I thought about welding on some filler and then drilling and taping for oil cooler I dont think there is enough metal without welding and the 3v runs hot in the woods scaring trees in second gear trying to keep up with a yx160 in my bike

yeah..my 3V runs warm...keep a good semi-sythetic oil in it..I run Golden Spectro...pricey but good stuff...the low end of the #v is similar to the larger displacement SDG mills...I have 2 SDG 138's and they came with the crancase tpped oil cooler...I suppose ya could tap off there like on the 138's
