well guys this fall i want to rebuild my motor. Its a tak. 106 old style super head. I want to replace the piston, rings, gaskets, check valves and go through the motor. The bike runs awesome with no smoke but it will make me feel better to get it done. So where can i get a rebuild kit for this motor. If they don't sell one then i might to to a tb117 bore but do i need a new crank. Also what should the intake and exhaust valves be set at? Please help

Get the +r piston and have the deck machined down to match your old one.The +r is a better design and has the teflon coating on it.I used one in my 115 and it works great.

Just adjust your valves and call it a day. If its not broke don't try to fix it

how many hours do you think the bike has run?

i would either just do a piston/rings

or if you want that little extra go with what 50whip said



if your happy with your motor i wouldnt waist the money on the 117cc

i think its the same crank but not 100% sure

It doesnt smoke at all and has great compression. I would like to get a little more power if i could. You can't run any other piston other than a superhead piston unless you have alot of custom machine work done .The dome in the super head is unique and you just can't throw another brand in it.I tried to mod another brand piston for mine before going with the +r and I wasted alot of time .
