I have a brand x 125. When it gets up to operating temperture it starts stumbling then falls off and dies. If I start it right away it will idle but any amount of throttle and it dies again. If I wait five min I can go again until it does it again. Any Ideas as to my problem? as I don't want to just start changing parts till it's fixed. Thanks

Next time it dies turn the fuel off immediately. Then loosen the carb drain and see if there is enough fuel in it for the bike to run. It could be you have a kinked fuel line or something is obstructing the passage in the seat of the carb and fuel does not flow fast enough. How long does it run each time? Is it about the same amount everytime? If so, I think you are running out of fuel. If you let it sit for 5 minutes the fuel is able to get by the blockage and fill the carb w/ enough for you to run again. I may be wrong but it is something easy to check. You could also check your gas cap vent and line to make sure it is venting. You should also check the vent line on the carb.

Check that out and post up what you find.

I think mellow may be right! I had this problem, fill the fuel tank and try running it, I know this sounds stupid, but I pulled my carb off to check it out (no problems), I put it back on, toped off the tank, and it ran fine. I think the petcocks for the tanks are just in a funny spot and it looks like there is plenty of fuel, but theres not enough in the tank to get to petcock, and down the fuel line. This has happened to two of my brand x bikes.

It may be a failing exciter coil as well. Only really way to test is to replace and run the snot out of the bike to see how it does.

I was thinking that too but I figured I would tell him something a little cheaper to try. I have seen electronics break down when hot b/4. I am keeping my fingers crossed for the pinched fuel line.

Sweet, glad to hear it was something simple. That's why I am glad we have this forum. Sometimes the advice and experience people have can save another member some time and money.

I have worked on bikes for a while but I have learned a couple of things since I have been on this site.

i had an old yammy 2stroke that some previous idiot had attempted to seal the tank and in the process sealed the cap. The bike would do the same exact thing. Took me awhile to figure out and a toothpick cleaned the problem right up.
