Ok I'm stumped on this. I picked up a 2007 crf50 for $300 and a klx tall seat. Bike was rode maybe 3 hrs tops then sat for like 6 years. Bike runs fine after carb cleaning and want not but acts like the throttle is sticking and slowly returning back to idle. Checked the carb and the slide is not sticking and idles and revs fine so could use some insight.

throttle cable is probably stretched/frayed. i would replace cable, make sure carb is clean enough to eat out of, and give it another try

I don't see how cuz bike is technically brand new. Cable doesn't matter cuz its gunna get changed with the bar kit

Check for air leaks around the carb and spacer area. Also see where the needle position is. My friend had a 50 where no matter how well you clean the carb and seal it up, it wouldn't return to idle. The needle ended up being all the way at the top or bottom, so we set it to the middle and it was fine. But your problem is likely an air leak from old o-rings.

Make sure the pilot jet is completly cleaned out they are very small so look into the light if its dark that's what it is everytime mine gets a piece in there it doesn't want to return to idle.

Jets are fine. It returns to idle but takes a few seconds like the its slowly rolling off the throttle. All gaskets for the carb are in new condition so I'm gunna replace head gasket for kicks and giggles and see if that was the problem

spray around with some gum cutter and listen for a change in engine rpm. diagnose the problem dont just shot gun it

Your grip rubbing on twist throttle?? I've had that happen before and also if your carb is really tight on the 2 bolts holding it on that could cause a hang up.
