My Belgian History + Honda ST70 Dax ==> New chrome !

Hi guys..

My name is Niels, I'm 21 and from Belgium - Europe, home of the best beer and chocolates in the world :)

This is my first post on this forum, I decided to just put down my 6 years of Hondadriving.

This was my first bike, a Honda Z50A 1976.

Image

I sold this one after 2 years, and I bought myself a ST50 Belgian Dax..

It had a Kitaco Superclutch, 88ccm, old type 70cylinderhead.

Old type Kitaco upswept exhaust..

Little bit of chrome :) and gold plated nuts and bolts.

Kitaco meter set

Image

I sold this bike after a year, because I missed my Monkey..

I made a new bike, starting from scratch. A Honda Monkey Z50J1.. I made it like a Monkey Millennium.

I used the engine from my Dax.

Takegawa front fork, backstepkit, super multi meter, other small Takegawa and Kitaco parts.

Image

I liked it, but it wasn't extreme enough.. So I kept on tuning

A Big Cedar aluminium fuel tank, G'craft swing arm, front disc brake kit, half a rear disc brake kit :D

The engine contained a 5speed, Takegawa clutch, 108ccm Takegawa Superhead.

Image

After this, it still wasn't enough for me..

I took the bike apart, and started all over again..

Back step kit, new engine, rear disc brake kit, ...

Engine: 4 speed, Takegawa clutch, inner rotor, 117ccm Daytona Oval Head kit..

Paint: House of Kolor, rainbowflakes

Image

While I had this Monkey, I bought a frame.

CT70 Dax.. Never finished this bike..

Image

I sold my Monkey, and the Daxproject.

At the beginning of this year I bought a Honda Chaly... a wreck (as you can see in the picture)

Allready sold

Image

My latest project is another Dax... This will be my last bike I put together..

It's not finished yet..

Paint: House of Kolor.. Black layer - Chrome layer - Candy orange - metalflakes - candy orange

Engine will be: 4 speed, Takegawa clutch, 106ccm Takegawa Superhead +R

Exhaust system: Kitaco upswept kevlar, old type

The seat is a NOS old type seat

All the rest will be chromed

I also had some other bikes

A Honda CB125 Twin: http://users.pandora.be/nielsdepuydt/Geschiedenis/cbtwin.jpg

A Honda CBR600F: http://users.pandora.be/nielsdepuydt/Geschiedenis/4914084.jpg

And this is the Quad I still have.. A Quadzilla with a Honda CR500 engine:

Sorry about some bigger pictures..

Hoped you like my history in minibikes.

Sorry if I made any mistakes in English... It's good, but not perfect :D

Greetings,

Nealz

Hey people,

Thanks for the reactions..

@ rebelious: I usually drive my bikes every day, to go to school, or my girlfriend, etc..

I've wrecked a lot of engines doing that :p (about 4 Superhead engines, 2 oval Head engines, 1 Nice 113ccm engine, 1 R-stage engine, ...)

But with this Dax, the orange one, it's the intention to keep it in the living room, exept on real sunny days (which are rare in Belgium :))

@ FastMC: indeed, the pictures don't do the paint justice. I've been trying to take some pictures from different points of view and different lightsources.. Nothing helps..

If you go on vacation to Belgium someday.. Maybe ;)

I really like this picture, it shows the color, but you can't see the flakes

Nice bikes thanks for posting pics of them.. every time I see these kind of posts I get mad that I have not gotten time to do anything with my 69' Z yet!

LOL! I know Mark! Get to it! :p

Hey Nealz,

Nice time line of your bikes! Nice work! Welcome to the PM!

Very nice bikes. Most here in the states don't build street legal machines. It can be quite hard to get legal registration on such old bikes with no paper trail.

Good luck and drink a few Gueuze's for me!!!! (I brew Belgian style ales for almost 20 years now.)

Thanks for the replies..

Sorry it took so long for me to answer. I keep getting this message I'm banned on IP-address. I contacted the admin, and he says I'm not banned, but I still couldn't get on the site.. I'm surfing anonymously now

50mafia: indeed, it's the new chrome color from HOK.. It was introduced since 3 days when I ordered it.. I think that was about 6-7 months ago??

The Dax is still the same, still in process.. I bought a Daytona dry clutch for it.. Ofcourse it needs to be chromed as well :D(completely)

Greets

Niels

Niels,

Get some extra clutch discs since Daytona discontinued that gearbox. Daytona no longer sells the dry clutch discs either. Find 'em while you can.

If they are the same as the Takegawa dry clutch discs, let us know.

Gotta love a new build..

Hey Z,

I know Daytona no langer produces the dry clutch. I bought mine second hand too.

BUT, you can use the Takegawa's.

No problem

I even heard that Takegawa now has a 5disc dry clutch? And that the 5 discs might fit a Daytona clutch. But the person I heard this from wasn't sure, and he suggested I tried it :D
