i finally did something that i have thought about doing for awhile, but just now got arround to it. since BBR came out with the u-flow, i decided to make my own. now keep in mind that i am using the stock carb, and i already owned the TBR filter and bracket for awhile before doing this. what i first did was pull the rubber piece that connects the carb to the stock airbox off. this was an easy starting point. after that i decided to head down to my local ace hardware store where i purchased a 90 degree pipe fitting elbow that is 1" in diameter, and i also purchased a hose clamp that would fit. those two ojects totaled about $3. what you need to do is take a hacksaw to the elbow and saw off about half the length off one of the ends, and then sand it off nice and smooth. the short end is the end that the filter will attach to. then you simply force the other end of the elbow into the piece off the stock airbox, and secure with the hose clamp. from there all you have to do is line it up correct. i found that when you look at the front of the bike, the filter fits in nicely when the arrow is about in the 2' o clock position.

i found that my filter hits the gas tank slightly at one point, and if i cut the elbow more, im sure i could get it to fit without touching, but im not really too concerned.

you have just taken away power from your bike. period.

Because you have added length to the intake track, you have change the tune characteristics of your engine. It will make some bottom, but will choke out on the top.

If you notice the U-flow filter, it's size grows as it gets to the airfilter.

Look at any dirt bike airbox. CRF, YZ, etc etc and you will see that it grows close to 30 percent for every inch of length. ( haha dirty minded fools )

Kewl job on stepping up and making something yourself something for your bike, but I'm just telling ya what I've found after years of testing.
